Avante vs Forte sound proofing

it seems that Avante ride is much quieter than forte's.

Is it due to the sound-clad which comes with avante or tire size?

Avante comes with sound clad SP and thicker tires.

Or is it due to other reasons???

Sound clad should help only on reducing road noise. I'm not sure if Forte has them. But from my last test drive, I felt that Forte engine noise intrusion is slightly higher than Avante. Along the same stretch of road driving the Avante, regarding road noise, both are about the same due to the traveling speed. I believe Forte 17 inch tyres would generate slightly more road noise.

ya. its the road noise that is pretty irritating.

the engine noise is ok......

the 17" tires (215/45/R17) is also pretty noisy.

Forte is noisier, think due to lack of soundclad, 17 inch tyres, and the torsion beam which roughens the ride.

heck, a forte doesnt even come stock with tuffkote, so theres absolutely nothing on its undercarraige that reduces sound.

Size of rims, tires and even suspension contributes to noise levels. Usually softer suspension setup gives less noise.

are you comparing 2 new cars? if its new, there will not be much ratling sounds. its after a few mths later that those sounds will appear. SP can only do so much, it cannot totally eliminate.

think there wun be much rattling sound since i kept modifications to zero (never tear open doors....or install lights).

even my 3yr old cerato is behaving well. just tat engine is a tad noisy, fuel consumption is high. like SUV.

my SE gave me tuffkote FOC, so i was thinking of adding sound clad to it....if it does help in reducing road noise....

my forte is indeed more noisy compare to avante.

Tyre, suspension, SP etc.

but my engine is also noisy.

enigine is very noisy outside,

inside, after SP, it is better.

nosie for both is acceptable for me.

avante less noise, but i pick forte.

due to features/spec and styling over noise.

only expect it to be as quiet as its counterpart-Avante.

tap on the door and the interior plastic. its so hollow. this is the sign of all budget cars. that's where all the rattling noises come from. SP it and feel the difference.

Yup...

It only dissatisfied problem with my Avante is the tire noise intrusion into the cabin...

If you compare slamming doors, both the Avante and the Forte... the THUD sound of the Avante is a bit more solid feel...

Avante got a comfy ride...

Forte (EX) a bit more nimble drive but tire noise is worst then the Avante...

Just sharing...

I must agree, my forte sx is nosier compare to your avante.

i think your avante engine is more refine compare to mine.

Tyre also, especially i pump in 250 kpa tyre pressure.

make it even more noisy.

:P

if you guys hear loud engine rev noise and tyre noise.

travelling on highway loud like thunder,

that could be me, therefore please kindly keep to left lane.

Why 250kpa tire pressure..?

If not mistaken, for a 205/55/16... the pressure should be just around 220kpa...

Please check your tire pressure label sticker at side driver door...
