SLS, DIY.

Seriously, it's quite easy, too. You're on this forum, so you've got a car. That means getting it home isn't a problem.

Just ask an IT friend to tag along. It's not too difficult. But give him a blow jo, erm, I mean, dinner later on.

Edit: Forgot about the maintenance portion of a computer. I'm an IT person, so i kind of take it for granted. Well, if you're not an IT person, then maybe Dell might end up a better idea. Whenever something goes wrong, just give them a call.

I would recommend going to Sim Lim...

Trade Pac....Its actually an indian shop...

But don't judge it, even though its not as big as other shops...

But i heard from my friends who are working there....

Many "big shops" take their goods from them.... [:p]

Furthermore, its quite cheap also...

Recently, i got a CPU from them...

$600plus..

Intel I3,2GB ram, 500GB, Windows 7professional...but its MSI motherboard....

But you get what you pay for...

Maybe you can take a look? [:)]

Haa [laugh]

Besides,

Nowadays, it seemed quite pointless if you just go repair your old desktop which gives you alot of problem...

I would rather get a new CPU or replace all the old components like Motherboard,etc...

Turbocharged

Intel I3,2GB ram, 500GB, Windows 7professional...but its MSI motherboard....

MSI motherboard under rated, in my non professional view. [:p]

My 2 PCs all running on MSI motherboards. No issues at all for their 4 to 5 year lifespan. So far. [laugh]

I think my friend got from TradePac (he said indian shop in SLS, but didn't specify).

What he said is that the follow up services is horrible. If anything goes wrong and you bring down to exchange, they really bochup.

I still suggesting Fulwell, if you're going the DIY route. The difference is minimal.

To TS,

In short -

(1) DIY if you know what you are doing - otherwise "branded" PC or MAC

(2) Get MAC if you have $$$, if not get "branded" PC
