Tyre width affect FC

I dun understand why ppl dun want to stick to stock settings. Keep on thinking the bigger/wider the better. The manufacturer has already calculated & tested the optimum FC, ride comfort & handling using the specific tire size.

so does it not mean much if i oni upsize my wheels 15"x6" to 16"x7" for better grip & handling? wat's ur take on dat? been contemplating for a while, or should i just chg 185/55/R15 to 195/50/R15 or 205/50/R15 (if avail)? thx.
