Osprey23 Turbocharged August 26, 2010 Share August 26, 2010 Trabzonspor 1-2 Liverpool Europa League, 3rd round qualifier, 2nd leg August 27th, 2010 Liverpool left it late to overcome Turkish side Tranbzonspor in their final Europa League qualifier on Thursday night. The Reds, leading 1-0 from the home leg last week at Anfield, went behind after just 4 minutes when Gutierrez scored from close range after Dirk Kuyt had given the ball away to allow Tranbzon in. It looked like that goal was going to send the game into extra time and the possibility of penalties until the 84th minute when Glen Johnson ↡ Advertisement
Osprey23 Turbocharged August 26, 2010 Author Share August 26, 2010 Correcting an error from the report. It was a shot from Pacheco, not Cole, that the keeper parried before Kuyt cooling tapped in the rebound.

JumpySpeedFiend 2nd Gear August 27, 2010 Share August 27, 2010 (edited) To be honest, I am pleasantly surprised of the result. I am preparing for the worst when told that Torres and Gerrard will be missing the match. Really happy to be proven wrong this time. The team followed the trend so far, sucks in the first half and came out like a different team in the second. Bright sparks are seen everywhere across the pitch. Ngog did well as the lone striker for us, hold the ball well, make clever runs off the ball and created a few chances for himself with some neat footworks. Unfortunate not to have his name on the score sheet. Joe Cole, well, he can do better than that. Aurelio started on the left side of midfield and did well. Kelly has impressed me so far with his hardwork and overlapping runs on the left flank. Hope to see more of him. Most pleasing of course, must be the performance of Pacheco. What the hell is Roy thinking and kept him for 75min before unleashing him? Good to see these young players continue to flourish under Roy. WBA on Sunday is a must win, for points and for confidence building. Edited August 27, 2010 by JumpySpeedFiend ↡ Advertisement
