That's just the autobrake system adjusting the amount of brake applications coupled with the reverse thrust so that it will slow down the aircraft sufficiently so that the PILOT can taxi off the runway at the appointed exit......Just in case u reading a different manual

 

 

they still term it auto-taxi anyways....

and the A380 has a separate on the ground GPS like a car....

 

so the pilot knows where it's exactly within the airport taxiway and where it's supposed to go....

but i can't help but wonder,

 

what are the technological progress in airplane engineering there for???

 

waste of money and resources???

 

and it's been statistically proven that 50% of air-crashes are caused by pilot error....

 

so if you remove the pilots,

 

you'd have reduced air-disasters by 50% leah....

 

 

Selective use of statistics in this instance does not show the complete picture.

 

The technology exist for pilotless travel now. But these require instrument based flights.

 

As any engineer will know, instruments fail all the time and if you addin Murphy;s Law, it will fail at the worst of times.

 

The pilot is there to decide which instruments fail and should react accordingly.

 

You should find out the frequency of instrument failures and the subsequent number of times the pilot overrides those instruments to continue flying safely.

Please pay more to the maintenance tech. Even if the pilot is experienced, the maintenance tech screws the job and everyone is screwed.

 

Case in point. The crashes of the ATR72 because the technician put some part that belonged to the ATR42 into it.

engineers and pilots compliment each other.....

 

they need each other to complete the whole system....

 

if either fails to do his job properly,

 

the plane may come crashing down, no matter how good the pilot is....

and his clarity of mind at the time of flying....

 

some pilots take flying of some joke,

 

where they can use the computer to play games???

 

or listen to music as they're flying....
