I will still choose to buy Kizashi paying 6k more for more equipped MIJ car.

Suzuki makes very durable cars. I drove the Swift Notchback 1.0L for 7 yrs, the longest ride with no problems even before I sold it. If a 1.0L car no frills car is so durable, their luxury one should exceed my expectations.

MIK, MIC cars will look good when brand new. The materials will start to show signs of deterioration sooner than MIJ cars.

MIC are the worst I believe.

If you have that much to spend then buy an Alfa which is just around 120K ride with style and pride.

What is OMV? It stands for Open Market Value.

OMV is assessed by the Singapore Customs (Tel: 6355 2000), based on the price actually paid or payable for the goods when sold for export to the country of importation. This price includes purchase price, freight, insurance and all other charges incidental to the sale and delivery of the car to Singapore.

doesnt it include badge value as well? (according to you of course).. or previously, you mentioned OMV is set by the dealer themselves? lol [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

Wait a minute!

OMV only $19k?

My Jazz already $18,600 OMV.

Wah, then selling price of i45 is $100k while my Jazz is only $72k.

Really a huge differences in the value of cars.

Now u know how much Komoco earns.... [knife]

I met a white one yeaterday evening on ECP going towards airport. I was behind him on the extreme right lane and the car speed was eratic (from 90 km/h to 40 km/h and vice versa) and was drifting left & right. When he slowed down to 40 again and there was a gap of almost 10 car lengths in front of him - I signaled left, took lane 2, sped up and signaled right and went back to lane one (about 4-5 car length in front of him)... When I went past him, I noticed he was on the phone. Less than a minute after I overtook him, this gentleman sped up next to me, glared at me, and then cut in front of me with half of the car body slanted and jammed brake!! He did that a few times even when I changed lane and tried to avoid him, after a while he lost interests and cut across 4 lanes from lane 1 to exit to KPE causing 2 vehicles to e-brake....

... sigh... I guessed I must be getting old and mellow...

i hate ppl who drive while on the phone w/o handsfree set....they always slow down traffic

i think you got my statement all wrong....

the last time,

i was referring to OMV being the price that is able to be "marked up by the car manufacturer themselves".....

or overdeclaring....

(since importers can underdeclare, why not overdeclare???)

afterall,

the OMV does reflect the cost of which the car costs....

they can overdeclare when the car model they sell is very popular....

but people are still willing to pay such high OMV and selling prices, just for the sake of the car....

don't you get it????

for my example,

lets say this car model costs $15k to make....

but local distributor has a tie-up with the factory....

ask them to declare the OMV of $20k....

so end up,

the distributor and factory pockets $5k of OMV,

but since the car model is selling very well,

people are actually led to think that the OMV of the car is $20k....

and you know the local tax rate....inclusive of the car's OMV, it's 2.27 of the car's OMV....

so yah....

and worse still,

is when PI bring in a car with a lower OMV compared to the distributors,

the distributor will sense something fishy and report the "under-declaration" of OMV???

when in actual fact, it's the actual OMV of the car imported....
