I would say upgrade. Somehow i see volvo as a level below merc and bmw.

 

Moreover xc60 is not the biggest suv of volvo. The new 5 series does cost more than XC60 and of course more options and higher level of luxury.

Upgrade or downgrade is subjective to different prospective,

Price & brand wise BMW 5 is expensive than xc60 now, but talk about off road function and driving fun,

xc60(T6 AWD)as a full size SUV, definitely wins over BMW 5,

In term of from SUV to saloon, downgrade

if you consider number of seater as a factor of SUV, forget it, go for MPV

in current market labelling "7 seater" SUV, actually 3rd row seats are not suitable for passengers sitting, even if for children, cramp, hot, and unsafe if rear crash happen

agree, conti culture is different from Asia, normally they are small family, especially they don't stay under one roof with parents, so 7 seater mpv is not so popular in conti makers,

I collected my car yesterday and I saw the price for X5 is $370-$390k. XC90 T5 is around $280k. Both comes with 7 seat.

Thx, couldn't spend anymore higher for 528i, so I settle for 520i.

Most of the time I drive slow anyway, but I can always throw in another 30bhp for $2k+ by adding a piggyback tune.

Hi everyone, I have the new XC60 for about 7 months. Everything was good except for the fuel consumption which is 6-7km/lit that is very discouraging to enjoy the high specs of this SUV.

 

My friend shared with me that he had his BMW 523i software tuned by some freelance engineers and it improves the fuel economy a lot. I wonder if anyone had any experience about this and if there is such a program for Volvo?
