Isn't Tom Tom for the USA market? SG have meh?

Tom Tom together with Magellan may be reputable brands on both sides of the Atlantic besides Garmin, the leading brand in the world, they are not up to the mark in the rest of the world as their map support is almost non existence outside USA and Europe. Garmin is the leading brand as they have maps of almost every country in the world. Besides that, you can almost find free third party maps of many countries in the world compiled for only Garmin GPS. This is due to the fact that there is a reversed engineered Garmin compiler that third party map makers used to compile their maps to work on Garmin deivces; something that you don't find in other brands. Some of these free third party maps are even better than the original garmin maps eg. Malsingmaps and Malfreemaps which compile Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and even Southern Thailand maps. Navigasi of Indonesia also compile a very mean map which is even better than the original Garmin map of Indonesia and it is FREE!. You can't find map making web communities that create maps for other brands. Even Papago, which do not have their own proprietry map, depends on Malfreemaps, whose main purpose primarily is to create maps for Garmin devices. The choice is obvious!

Tried Garmin 255 before. POI search takes damn long, esp using MSM maps.

Perhaps you can try the Papago r6600. POI search is very fast.

No signs of lag or whatsoever. A bit pricey but definitely worth it. [thumbsup]
