The Legend International Water Homes - Port Dickson

My kids exams will finish early, so I was thinking of popping over to Port Dickson for a 2D1N trip. http://www.legendiwh.com.my/location.htm

I was recommended the pool villa at the above resort, and as usual, there's a fair mix of "fabulous" and "won't go back again" reviews.

Anyway, I'm not about to be detracted. 3 hours in and 3 hours back, but if I go early, I'll have the better part of 2 days for loafing at the private pool and enjoying the facilities.

Any f/r on this resort?

try book room by the sea.

overall, think is good place to stay, drawback is u need to drive around for food and shops. the restaurant @ legend closes at 10pm. so make sure u have enuff snack, food and drinks if u dun intend to drive out after 10pm

Some feedback:

Like every other hotels theres the good side and definitely the bad side of it. Me and my wife planned this trip because we never been to port dickson before. reading from the reviews from all the hotels in port dickson we chose legend water chalet and booked the water chalet room. It was a good experience, the room was really nice with one big bed and a small bed by the window. the Toilet was big with a big bath tub and a shower with an open roof! which was nice during a sunny day taking a shower under the sun. Service was good too. During our 2 days stay in legend there was a blackout! we rang the reception and apprently the whole of port dickson went into a blackout! we had no electricity for 2 hours or maybe more, we just sat outside out private balcony for that night. The bad side of this trip is that you need a car! theres no chops or restaurant near by! so make sure you have some food stock and drinks! the hotel restaurant closes at 10pm and room service stops at 1am. the hotely lobby shop closes early too and on tuesday! overall is good

That's good feedback. Yes, I intend to book one that's above the sea. There were complaints about harassing mosquitos at the garden villa. Not much privacy to be offered though - heard the "private" pool faces other units across the water, and people from the main tower block have a bird's eye view on all the villas. Anyway, with children tagging along, any romantic notion and privacy can be tossed straight into the sea.

I hope blackouts are not common place in port dickson. There weren't any such feedback from other reviewers as far back as 2009, but I should be able to work out a contingency plan if I get straddled with one.

I'll take your advice to stock up on beverage, snacks and supper bits. Few things beats munching finger snacks lazily by the pool with a book in hand.

Dinner at the restaurant was described as sparse and forgettable, so looks like I'll have to drive down to PD town for meals. Any restaurant to recommend?

Put up at one seaside hotel many years ago. It had a freshwater swimming pool and lagoon. The tide return the septic tank discharge into the lagoon. The rooftop water tank supplied us stale water for the tap. I never went back

Heard and read many horror stories about Port Dickson's resorts. I tried Tiara Beach Resort a few years back - it was an absolute nightmare - long registration time, filthy and flooded toilet, stained walls, wet lifts, dusty room, noisy aircon, cricket chirping from above the ceiling board, murky pool, and very noisy crowd.

I'm aware of the sea water condition. It's far from what it used to be. Port Dickson today has little to offer and if not for the affordable villa for a weekend getaway, I'd rather be found along the east coast stretch.

Anyway, I've booked the water villa - looking forward to it.

Thanks for the tip. A nearer restaurant is an obvious choice, to allow more time to lounge around the pool.

You remember the name of this restaurant? or better still, the coordinates?

Been there twice. Nice place and quite well managed.

Like the others said, stay at the water homes. The ones by the sea.

Can do crabbing also.

There is a good Roti Prata place along the main road if you need some supper. The Mee goreng is good too.

Other food nearby as below:

1) "Dirty Mee", Name of the shop is called La Zhap Mee ( Means dirty mee in dialect?)

- serves up good dry noodles with ala carte choice of ingredients in the soup.

2) Tien Tien Seafood: Located in the seaside about 20 minutes drive from Resort.

- very traditional place and old style Cze Cha.

- Good price also.

- So Ulu is the place that there are cows grazing outside.

3) On the 15th Of every month, there are night markets setup along the main road.

- Alot of things to buy and alot of street snacks to try.

Hope this helps. [laugh]

Hey, that's good recommendation. A holiday is not complete without restful accommodation and fabulous food.

I've read up about Dirty Mee. Worth trying. And then I tried to search for Tian Tian Seafood, and this is what I managed to find:

Actually is my Uncle's restraurant...there are seafood, major is Crabs, Fish, Prawn, Fried Oysters, etc...Spicy is best but non-spice also good...It is located at kampung area, Chuah...FYI the road is narrow...it is an open area restraunt...becareful of cows when driving at the area...there is a lot of cow farm...there also sea inside the restraunt...In the evening u can see Palm trees around the area...

My favourites are the Dried Fried Crabs, Curry Fish, Fried Oyster, Prawn with wine, and a lot more that I don;t know how to describe in English...All is seafood.

Theme: Diner

Comparison: about average

Address: Chuah, Lukut

Phone: 06-6581233

Directions: Is hard to describe the place, cause is in the Kampung area...

Looks like I've got to seek the concierge's help to find this elusive place.

Bro, you are referring to the Water Homes? Is there any water sports available there? Thanks.

The pricing seems a lot more affordable than the Golden Palm Resort in Sepang.

Bro, i went there in august. I would is it is a very relaxing place to stay. Place is clean and well managed and service staff are friendly. But if you book the ones on top of the sea, maybe you would wan to request those outside facing the sea. If not mostly are facing each others. You have to walk pretty far and at night it seems quite scary to walk alone.

For me i did not go out of the place as i felt it was very comfy in the room and spent time waddling in the pool and room service for food.

There is a restaurant and a lounge over there. Food is not bad. Pricing for the lounge seems reasonable.

Overall a thumbs up for this place. Will visit when i have the time again.

Enjoy yr trip!!

I was attracted to the fact that I can spend the day lounging by the pool in privacy, that's why I chose the pool villa above the sea. I've also requested when booking for a unit as far out into the sea as possible, for the reason of better view and more privacy. Not sure if Legend is able to accommodate that, because from past experience when staying in resorts up north, the better rooms are usually alloted to locals.

I couldn't tell from most pics if there's adequate privacy at the private pool. I was told by the reservation desk that there are units with sheltered pool and those that are open-air. My preference is obviously for open-air + privacy.

Most of the reviews didn't have much good to say about the chow offered by the resort. Anyway, I've that craving for seafood, so I don't mind driving out for meals. I'm also interested in visiting the lighthouse at Cape Rachado. Been there?

I checked the blog - the waiting time frightens me. Even if it's the best bang for bucks seafood restaurant, waiting 3 hours for the food to arrive is a sure turn off.

What time did you arrive the last time you patronised Yuan Xiang?

There is adequte privacy in the pool villa. Jus some small windows, doubt other side can see what is going on inside. As for the rooms allocations, i believe it is more of 1st come 1st served. The restaurant serves good food ( For me ) and there is a lounge to relax.

Stayed all the way inside the hotel, didnt managed to visit other places. As didnt want to travel around. Cars are pretty safe as there are guards outside and u can park right in front of the hotel.
