I am on Chartis insurance but never claim before (touch wood) so dont have anything to feedback about them. I only know when I renew with them they give quite a competitive rate unlike other insurers who simply jack up the price according to current market rates. I even got a bit of cash rebate from my insurance agent since I was a repeat customer :D

I am also insure with them. Their quote is one of the lowest.

The best part is I can send my car Nissan Sunny, to Tan Chong workshop for repair.

My car insurance is also from chartis. I got into an accident with a taxi 1 month after I got my car 3 years ago. It was repaired at $21,000. 90% claimed against the taxi insurance (including loss of car use etc). That did not affect my premium. They settled all the claim, towed my car to AD. Once my car battery died, they send someone to restart it free. So far, never had any problem with AIG which is now Chartis.

Had a terrible experience with them, and I did not even claim from them.

Months after paying the 1st premium, they insisted my NCD was at a lower level than it actually was. That's based on their old records when I was with them previously year ago. Refused to listen to my explanation that my NCD had increased after I moved on to other insurers. Threatened to cut my insurance period short when I refused to pay extra for nothing.

In the end, after my repeated calls and insisting on them doing proper checks, they found it was their mistake. Simply called me and informed that I don't have to pay extra, that's it. Not even an apology.

I'm moving to another insurer, even if it'll cost me more. I believe this kind of customer service will kill me if I ever need to claim with their help.

why u never ask ur agent to liase with them? Those call centers are mostly fillipinos. Agents will normally know what to do.

Kao, called my agent from C&C, got the standard reply "Not my problem, you go talk to them directly!" [mad]

Standard behaviour once they've got your $ [whip]
