Hi All,

Need advise from anyone whom recently came back from Genting.

I'm going with my wife n 2 young kids (4 n 2 yrs old) at end of this mth and staying at first world. its my first time staying there.

My last trip to genting was almost 20 yrs ago staying at resort hotel.

1) Is the rooms at first world comfortable (got heater in room? carpet floor? suitable for young children?)

2) How about resort hotel?

If too much negative comments on first world, will change to resort hotel.

Thanks in advance to all who replied me. [:)]

resort hotel will be much better, toilet also nicer.

If you want to stay at first world for 2 days or more make sure they key in the correct date. On my second day stay, i came back from shopping and there was this indian guy who was inside my room. He had took his bath and also taken his dinner in my room. The one who attended to me registered my stay as 1 day only and they issued my room to this guy when i havent check out. [rifle]

1) U won't need heater just shut all the windows. GH is very much hotter now compare to your last visit 20 years ago. Comfy wise i reckon can sleep and shower but basically so small that u won't feel like spending extra min inside the room.

2) Comparative to resort world i reckon is a better choice for you and your family bro.

The rooms at resort hotel are newly renovated and price is reasonable but parking is a pain if u're driving.

and yeah, free wifi at the coffee bean near the reception!!!

I stayed at First World a few years ago but the only thing I can remember is how small my room was..There was not much walking space and the toilet was really small with no bathtub but they do have water heater..but I guess my travel agency book the most cheapo room available..

If you do have a higher budget then resort is definitely better than first world hotel.

First world hotel basically is just a room with basic bed, 14"TV, small bath room, no frills, non luxury, its however lowest cost among all (at hill top). Note that First World do have a "triple" room (1 single plus 1 queen size bed) for family....Can't comment on suite as I never stay there before;

If you have family of 4, may try Theme park as they have those 2 queen size bed room, big enough but again non-lux, price wise just a little higher than First World....distance to Theme park is the nearest but a bit of walking distance to both Casino though;

Resort has "recently" renovated and of course nicer....checking in and going to the room is faster, a better choice that come with higher price of course;

I have stayed at First World many times but was once saw a couple right in front of me, use their key card and enter into my room! I approach them and they also got frighten as both of us were scare of each other!!! (lol), then we tested both our key and both were able to open the door! But since I was there few hours before them, so they went to the counter and change room. Since then, whenever stay at First World hotel, left nothing valuable in the room.....

Also note that checking in duration for First World usually take longer than others since they have 6,000 rooms despite of many counters operating. I hate if I can't get a room in Tower 1....walking distance from lobby to room can sometime takes around 15 minutes - imagine when u just donated $ to Casino, feel very tired and need a rest badly..... [:p]

Hope above info helps ^_^

1) room size is pretty small. but still okay with childern if you manager to get those bigger room.

2) resort is bigger than First world.

But hor, you got children. First world is more convinent if you want to go to indoor theme park.

I heard there is a car theft syndicate operating there and previous occasions when my friend was resting in the car, someone tried to open the car from outside. Its just too scary? Maybe paranoid [laugh]

don't bother going First World.. the queue to get ur room key is enough to kill u (me and family queued 2.5hrs)..

if u want First World, it is better to book from a tour agency as they have special lanes for tour agencies.

Resort Hotel newly renovated, so it is good to have a try there (although i haven't tried yet).

oh ya, more important is drive safe up North. ^_^
