Those that you get a decent (abit cramp) semi detached house with all the anemities of condo around you and security guard. There is this one at palm grove regency i thought the environment is quite decent for a second property investment cum staying. I feel its good location near kovan and serangoon garden. Any views? ↡ Advertisement
Surpize 1st Gear October 24, 2010 Share October 24, 2010 You may also wish to consider the Maintenance Fee (Management Fund & Sinking Fund) that you will have to pay to the Management Corporation for upkeeping of the estate every month. Likely to be high taking into consideration that there is only 20 units / Owner to share overall upkeeping cost... My two cents view...

Any views? location is quite ok site / estate is not so good becos density is high and traffic not so smooth when it chokes. but it's cheap. you may one to consider the cluster bungalows at braddell heights. basement carpark for 4 cars, big and spacious on top of hill. about $4mil space surrounding is good. density is lower feeling is nicer. but further from amenities
TandemAssassin 1st Gear October 24, 2010 Share October 24, 2010 You must be prepared to be bound by MCST by-laws and put up with PITA MC members. It is not like a conventional landed where you can do pretty much anything so long as it does not contravene government regulations.
themagi Neutral Newbie October 24, 2010 Share October 24, 2010 Small developments means cosy, also means have to be part of management committee. Depends on your luck if your neighbours are Everitt Rd type.
Chickenbackside 1st Gear October 24, 2010 Share October 24, 2010 Used to live in one. The thing that I hated most was the climbing up and down the stairs. 2nd hateful thing was the proximity to neighbours. It's worse than living in an apartment in the sense that all you see out of the window is your neighbours and they are very close. The noise from the pool area will be an issue, although it's also a problem in condos. Also, you can hear your neighbours very well. All in all, I will not choose to live in one again. Lex250 Clutched October 24, 2010 Share October 24, 2010 Ok lah...that place is not bad. U are refrring to the cluster semid or terrace? Ceiling ht tends to be low as they r trying to sqeeze more space. Please chk for water damages in the basement and roof as in any other house you may view. I am living in a cluster house ard that area and my neighbours all get along. We even hang out togther and have communal bbqs. Really luck of the draw i reckon
Wind30 Turbocharged October 24, 2010 Share October 24, 2010 I used to live in cluster housing before moving out to a terrace. I think it is nice if your cluster housing development is BIG so the swimming pool and landscaping is decent sized. I liked the underground carpark of cluster housing so that the ground floor can be used for landscaping unlike terrace houses which is just the roads. Other than that cluster housing is usually more "cramped". I don't like the cramp feeling and looking into your neighbours window right outside. Other than that there is not much difference. If you use facilities then get cluster housing lor. Or if you want to rent it out. I think cluster housing fetch very good rentals as angmos like it. Yes, these are things you have to consider when buying landed. Regarading the downpayment , it's up to you. I down about 70% for mine becos I'm just like that. but I think 50% is definitely good enough. yes landed prices are way ridiculous now. i'm also not buying at this point. good luck dude
