Dining at MBS

How's Morton's? You've tried Bedrock before? If yes, which has better steak? I've only tried Bedrock so far, based on recommendation from someone who went to both....

Anyway, I don't think the Guy Savoy here will be rated high on Michelin's, if at all. There's no 'famous' chef here. The brothers, one at Paris, one at LV, don't know who's holding the fort here.

I wonder why Iggy's is not rated. I mean, best in Asia surely means something, no?

Morton is good... but not great...

it doesn't strike you in a way that "wow! i wanna come again" kind of feeling... at least for that price

don't get me wrong... it's by far the best in singapore... but it still doesn't really cut it in my opinion...

I think Ruth's chris serves a better steak for that price... i always have it when i go HK

i'm looking forward to Mamou in phillipines... i heard it's really good.

By far the best? I guess you mean steak? That means something. I'll go there, just for the steak if nothing else. I asked about bedrock because, till now, the best steak I've had was from there. Wagyu Black Angus hybrid, Tomahawk steak. Done medium rare (I wanted rare, but my friends were icky about it. D:).

SOOOOO GOOD.

Total bill, with other things and a bottle of wine was $130 per person.

A bit...expensive, but ok for occassions.

The Cote de boeuf was very good... portions were big enough for 2... and free flow fries ( which are very very good by the way) and salad...

Escargot were amazing... the garlic butter was yummy....

There are actually 6 celebrity chefs at MBS with 3 of them opened. They are mainly, Mario Batali, Daniel Boulud, Wolfgang Puck, Justin Quek, Santi, Guy Savoy and Tetsuya Wakuda. They are mostly 2 or 3 star Michelin star chefs other than Justin Quek who is local the rest are all from overseas. This is the first time we see so many big name chefs open up in Singapore and it

There are some food kiosks [recently discovered] at the Shoppes/Convention Center opp the hotel. Look out for Coffee Bean outlet at the end of the canal [sampan rides], the food kiosks are just nearby "hidden" by some escalators. The prices quite ok for the location, about S$5 for 1 plate nasi lemak, S$2 for canned drink. Other local foods around this price level. Tables/chairs provided.

Hotel carpark only by valet @S$12 per day.

Self-park only at the Convention Center opp the hotel. Forgotten the hourly rate, max per day S$26.

If play at casino, can redeem parking ticket with 3 [or 4] premier dollars which allow single exit regardless of nos of days parked.

[so my car parked in 2 days total S$52 go out with the single exit redemption ticket.]

If did not play at casino, can buy S$6 carpark voucher at the hotel valet counter to pay for your parking [at the convention center].

Hotel guest have complimentary access to the skypark and pool. Each room card can allow you to bring 2 friends.

[public visitor have to buy ticket to skypark @S$20/adult @S$14/child access to skypark observation deck, no access to the pool area].

I invited my buddy and family [2A, 2C]. Imagine a saving of S$68.

valet park $12 a day at the hotel? so cheap?

I know Morton's expensive. But I think it's okay to try once, at least. For the supposedly good steak.

Intend to try Iggy's at least once, too. But need an occasion for that.

But, honestly, I think I'm a glutton, not a gourmet. I eat too damned fast. By the time I stop and think about what I'm really tasting, half the plate's gone already....
