Personally, I find their remarks and opinions on malaysia quite naive, and shows some lack of understanding that situation or scenario in malaysia is very much different from indonesia. Perhaps they should employ someone who was born and grew up in malaysia as their "consultant".

 

They are not used to a more "dynamic" or "chaotic" environment, perhaps. Many environments outside Singapore look "unstable", but they have means of self-adjustment, as demonstrated in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, United States and elsewhere. My advice has always been, stay in those countries for at least several months, if they know the native language. If they do not know, it may take years to learn what people think and how they might behave in a given situation.

the world has been divided into several portions - big powers like americas, china, russia etc. & their 'allies', middle east, east & west europe, apac, asean etc etc....

with big boys diminishing their powers to gain trades & economy trusts . . . . the americas is losing its credibility to china (they have too many baggages with the europeans)

the saudis & east are too silo for themselves on the economy shares now

 

thus, could it be a conspiracy theory that assange is just another tool from the americas to 'screw up' the unity among this part of the region in gaining unity trades & economy against the greenbags?

 

for once, to get rid of assange or its little blog is finger-tip by the americas, but they did not instead......

A spokesman said that as a matter of principle, MFA does not comment on leaks but reiterated that conversations with the US Embassy were taken out of context and are based on 'American interpretations of confidential conversations.'

When asked whether the comments would affect Singapore's relationships with the various countries in question, the spokesman said:

 

'Singapore has long-standing, robust and positive relationships with all countries in our region. These relationships are built on a strong foundation of shared interests and mutually beneficial cooperation in many areas. Countries base relationships on their own interests and not hearsay or gossip.'

 

When asked about possible critical comments about Singapore by other countries, the spokesman added:

 

'There are many thousands of leaked cables from US diplomatic missions all around our region. I would be very surprised if Singapore were not the subject of at least some of them. . As I said earlier, MFA does not comment on leaks. '"................
