Come across this Advert in the Zao Pao of today - "Year Ends Sales at Stamford Tyres" from 16 to 19 Dec 2010. The sales includes Rims & Tyres. I am wondering what brands of tires are being put on sales there, as the prices seem to be cheap. For example, the 205/50/R17 is advertised @ $63, 225/50/R17 @$70. (for Jurong only). The prices for these 2 sizes of tires with no brand specified, is almost 1/3 the price of my Bridgestone RE001 205/50/R17, which I paid $200 each in Nov 2008. Has any one being to the sales?

To be fair to Stamford, i would suggest to drop by their branch in Juring to check out the tyres and more importantly the YOM.

I bot the CSC3 when they had the promotion last month and the YOM is 2010, so it is a genuine sale.

Cannot compare to the CSC3 sales. That one it was stated in the ads that it's new tyre YOM last than a year.

But I agree it's better to go check at the outlet.

never heard of AKINA tyres before..

Akina is a new name for FIRENZA and it's ST-09 series under SUMO rubbers. ....Also AKINA tyres are now made-in-China, but the Stmford ppl say tat tyres lifespan can easily last 5 yrs with proper warehouse storage like theirs.

Check out the website below for exactly the model that they are having the sales for:

http://www.1010tires.com/tire.asp?tirebran...del=Akina+ST-09

They are having sales to clear their old stocks with only limited sizes and quantities left, but if you are not a fussy user and high-mileage user, these are great for day to day commute and excellent value for $ savings too!

I went to Stamford warehouse sale on 19/12/10 and they also have promotions for CSC and their in-house FALKEN tyres.

But the discount is not as much as advertised but still cheaper if you buy when there are no sales or at p-- ---g Tyres.

For example, their Falken Azenis (R17/45/215) costs $110 now and YOM 2008/9, I think. And their CSC Eco 3 (R15/65/195) YOM 2008, now costs $108/pc, including GST, install labour and balancing.

Wa... No wonder there is a discount... I don't trust rubbers that has been store in warehouse for more than a year, moreover these are 2 years already.
