Ahtong 1st Gear December 16, 2010 Share December 16, 2010 (edited) Open to public already although only 50% of the shops are open (or in various stages of opening) This is a very small shopping centre, just somewhat bigger than Siglap centre but smaller than Sun Plaza. There are 4 levels and a basement. Top level is still sealed off. This place is mainly for eating since all open levels are dominated by eateries. For example, NYDC, Pastamania, Mos Burger, Sushi Tei, Subway, Lerk Thai, Yoshinoya, some chicken rice fast food shop etc etc. There are few retail shops to look at unless you enjoy Giordano , Watsons or Eu Yan Sang . I think Giant at Parkway can hold my attention longer. Anchor tenant, for lack of any alternative option is Challenger. As this is a new building, the smell of industrial glue is still thick in some places. After 20 mins, moi felt a bit trippy so I left. I think people will come here mostly to eat and fark off. It is too small to sustain a proper shopping trip. Overtime this place will probably revert to being an unhappening HDB hangout. Bystander50 5th Gear December 16, 2010 Share December 16, 2010 way before the new flats were built next to Bedok Point, I thought/hope that plot of land would be used to build another mega small of comparable size to those in Tampines. Bedok had been lacking a large shopping center. From your description, I would say Eastpoint would be much better than Bedok Point.
Atonchia Supersonic December 16, 2010 Share December 16, 2010 No big anchor tenant or unique retailers, then I think can forget it. I may prefer to go FP or SNS to do grocery shopping instead.
Fcw75 Hypersonic December 16, 2010 Share December 16, 2010 Good for those glue sniffers then. Can get their kick just by walking around.

Difficult to get anchor tenants as the major ones like aunty lucy, sheng siong and shop n save are just within walking distance. Maybe we'll be able to see something similiar to amk hub when they redevelop the interchange and the land next to it.
Sturtles 6th Gear December 16, 2010 Share December 16, 2010 Certainly at bedok, you do not need another giant, carrefour, ntuc, shop n save etc as anchor tenant in the the shopping center so close to competition. But I think some theatres and popular is required

But I think some theatres and popular is required Is that Princess cinema still in operation? I think for most who wanted to catch a movie, they would have gone to Tampines, where there are more shopping facilities. Bedok Point was replaced with 2 cinemas with 5 halls, and for years, many had gone elsewhere to catch a movie.
Hondacub777 6th Gear December 17, 2010 Share December 17, 2010 Bedok has the most number of coffee shops and eateries.less than every 1km,u can find food.every corner has a coffee shop.
Ahtong 1st Gear December 17, 2010 Author Share December 17, 2010 At first I thought the still closed 4th floor is for a cinema but it is actually for Kbox. The shops in Bedok point also a bit repetitive. There is a already a Giordano at Bedok Interchange. EYS even worse... their original bedok branch is 50m away and still operating. At least Comics Connection relocated from the HDB to Bedok Point to prevent repetition. Forgot to mention Bedok Point also has a Pet Lovers Centre, Beijing 101 clinic and Triumph shop. ↡ Advertisement
