Haziqko Clutched December 19, 2010 Share December 19, 2010 Thanks for all the advise, here's the information, Car : Saab 9-5 (Nov'06) Tyre : Eagle F1 (approx. 25k km), 235/45R17 Symptom: "woong, woong" noise is heard between 70-90km/h, can hear from inside car w/ window closed, started about ~10k km ago, but more obvious recently Others : rotate tyre every 10k km. Done 4 wheel alignment and wheel balancing 5k km ago Changed the front support bearing, front arm bearing, thrust bearing and suspension bump stopper about 34k km ago (before current tyre). Tyre pressure : 38psi (manufacturer recommended 36psi) could be both the tyres and the bearings gone. The tyres are sure noisy when worn out and the bearings could be gone also. tire pressure seemed ok. i pump +4psi on all wheels and find that it becomes a bit noisy too. ↡ Advertisement

Roberttan 5th Gear December 20, 2010 Share December 20, 2010 (edited) replies here are all just adviced base on your quotes. so the best is go to your workshop or tyre mech to have physicall inspect on both tyre and test drive it ,An experience mech should able to solove your problem. self medication could cost you your LIFE (best consult your doctor but cost your consultation fee ) seld medication does help you to save money but be responsible to yourself. Accord Clutched December 20, 2010 Share December 20, 2010 Bro, time to change your tyres. I'm facing the same problem too. Likely is due to absorber that causes unbalance thread that make the sound:)

Tazstar88 Neutral Newbie December 20, 2010 Share December 20, 2010 I recently changed my tires to Falken Ziex912, there is a constant "humming" sound when the car is moving more than 50km/h. I did not have this issue when I am on previous Federal tires. I got C&C to check my bearings and even the chassis, all are well. I even went do a high speed balancing for the front wheels but the noise is still there. So my conclusion, must be the tires. It seems that Falken tires have this "humming" noise issue with certain cars...

Please dont waste your time or money go and balance /high speed balance/ check absober/spring.

Tazstar88 Neutral Newbie December 21, 2010 Share December 21, 2010 I hear this Falken 912 has high wear rate about 20k, so the next change will be Hankook I did use the old V8RS on my previous ride and the wet grip was "No horse run" especially when I am travelling on NSH. ↡ Advertisement
