I am driving a 2006 Toyota Vios and got this second hand. I've this for about 10 months and my gripes are:

1. No road presence

2. Pickup is slow and boring and lousy interior

3. Bread and butter car and car does not show any character

4. Not a fun car to drive

5. Noisy at high speed and pickup is slow.....

Advantages:

1. Its an automatic

2. Fuel Consumption at 14km/litre

4. $4.3k dep per year

I'm looking into changing my ride and have shortlisted Fiat Bravo 1.4 T-Jet. Looks like it has a better interior and I've to drive a stick. Cost wise, its about $2k more per year in terms of depreciation.

Anyone have taken a look at these 2 Fiat 1.4 Bravo T-Jet?

They were posted in November and so far, there've been no takers. Anyone knows the history of the cars? BTW, what would be the fuel consumption like for a 1.4 T-Jet?

i borrowed a Bravo T-Jet 1.4A from a frd when my car was left in the wrkshp for more than 2 mths...Overall i will rate the Bravo a 7/10 car...

Only thing i dont like abt the car is the legroom for the passengers behind n also its auto tranny....

My frd has its tyres profile changed to 225/45/17 n also aftermarket lowering springs upgraded, FC getting ard 9 - 9.5km/L....

The car in its stock form should give u ard 12-14 according to him...

For a 1.4, the power is relatively good alrdy...If not had been for its horsepower figure, the torque for this car should push the car alot more agressive....A simple chip will give the car additional a 40bhp increase...

Cheers if u are getting the bravo soon.... :)

How long do you intend to keep the next car?

If that only for short term (3~5 years), your resale value might be alot more then what you budgeted.

There is no "market" for Fiat cars here.

Just take a look at Fiat Stilo M.Schumacher.... Some of them are in shops over 6 months...

Do consider other old cars if for short term usage.

there are not many sports vehicles for fiat.....as their main sports vehicles are all under ferrari....

if u like the vehicle you can purchase the vehicle...or if not can go for another continental

however there is no denying that fiat is a continental brand

I'm looking at the Bravo T-Jet too.. aiming for the 6MT version..

my main concerns are:

1) Reliability

2) Maintenance cost

3) Availability and cost of spare parts if sh*t happens..

At the same time, i'm also looking at 6/7yo Integra 5MT.. buy one and enjoy it until it's 10th year..

if you looking for Fiat model, i guess you are sort of a driver who are incline to drive with your heart and not so much of your brain (Logic analogy thinking).. every car manufacturers; they have a fleets of models targeted at different segments of customers. For Fiat (Italy car manufacturer).. Bravo is the introduced model to replace Stilo in 2007 when it was launch.. till todate i don't think there is a replacement to it.. hence, if you decided to own a Bravo.. you are indeed driving a machine deems to be comparable good enough to supercede Stilo..To me i feel honor to own one.

Well if your wallets can cater for much heavier depreciation... there is of cos other choices.. Italy makes such as Alfa, Maserati, Ferrari.. unless you are like an average Joe like me who is crazy for Italy made model and find Bravo attractive and I gum wan pay and suffer the depreciation. I would say go for it.

Every car model have it fair share of 'problem'. So far my complain for Bravo is not about the car, its about the AD. Nevertheless, its not new to owner who owes Fiat in SGP.

1) Reliability - so far so good for me. selespeed trans seems pretty solid. u probably wont see a fiat breakdown, but thats also because there isnt a lot of fiat in SG in the first place [:p]

2) Maintenance cost - ex. TTS chargers are quite high. but if you dont mind not maintaing the warranty, there are cheaper and reliable workshops that can service fiat eg alfa sportivo. Btw, not all workshops can service Fiat cos its not common is SG

3) Availability and cost of spare parts - no issue. there are more stockist than workshops that can service fiat!
