Mona-vie 1st Gear December 28, 2010 Share December 28, 2010 Nope. Never seen one. But you do not need one for flushing.
Mona-vie 1st Gear December 28, 2010 Share December 28, 2010 Btw, the kit looks plastic. I dont recommend it as you need one of the tubes to be permanently attached to the hoses (cause you need to cut heater hose). Plastic won't last long under conditions in the engine bay. After a while it will crack and leak. If you really want to do a flush, you are better off removing the thermostat and circulate water thru the engine and drain it from the radiator. Do this several times, thats all you need.

Mona-vie 1st Gear December 28, 2010 Share December 28, 2010 (edited) why need to flush? You need to flush your coolant once in a while to remove debris and what junk thats accumulated inside over the years. Coolant additives will be used up over time so it has to be replaced as well. Just recently did a coolant flush at autobacs but think it is not clean. They just suck out the old coolant and then pour in new coolant. Was told the vacuum suction enough to clean out at least 80%, better than draining. So planning to do flushing myself with this kit. Prestone is well know brand, should last a long time. Guess have to buy from amazon, cost usd 7. Edited December 28, 2010 by Stanchiam
Mona-vie 1st Gear December 28, 2010 Share December 28, 2010 It can't be that troublesome to remove the hose right? its just a spring clamp or worm screw clamp

Yeobh 4th Gear January 16, 2011 Share January 16, 2011 (edited) Most engine blocks have a manually drain valve ocated along the water jacket. Shop will normally remove the lower radiator hose to try and drain the coolant. Edited January 16, 2011 by Yeobh
Gusruh Clutched January 16, 2011 Share January 16, 2011 I ever did engine flushing for my 5 years old Lancer once at a workshop. Cannot remember how much they charged me. Basically, they will drained my coolant in the radiator and add in some kind of liquid and let the engine run for few minutes. After that they drained it again and replaced it with a fresh coolant. Stanchiam 1st Gear January 18, 2011 Author Share January 18, 2011 (edited) wah.. like that really cockup design leh... no drain valve how to maintain (replace coolant)??? lol... thats what i thought i went to autobacs and do coolant flush for $25(promo inclusive of coolant). Ask them how they replace(before i told them my car make n mode), they say their method is to suck out the old coolant using their machine and then add in new coolant. They say they dont do draining method. lol... They say this vacuum suction is modern method and is fast and better then draining. Say it is cleaner. Maybe b-------t. Anyway, they say this is how modern car is maintain. Go to autobacs and try. ;) Well, maybe this car is design for "modern" replacement method. Pros is no coolant leaking, cons is have to go to autobacs. Anyway, I am buying this kit and will do a flush myself in the future. coolant just need to change once every few yrs... Yeobh 4th Gear January 18, 2011 Share January 18, 2011 Coolant draining and replacement machines were in the market for more than 10 years in US and Japan. Nothing great, nothing new ↡ Advertisement
