Parkingidiot 1st Gear January 20, 2011 Share January 20, 2011 THIS ... I beg to differ *just my own experience lah* ha ha... you missed out on some of the more "fun" parts of diving! Some of the chicks I have met on my boat dive trips are really very hot and easy going. I have even seen some of these girls doing topless sunbathing on the boat deck when not diving. Those days no phone cams about so no pictures to show. But usually each 3-4 day boat dive trip to Malaysian waters will see at least 1 couple relationship formed by the end of the trip. And diving is sooooooo much more fun when there are girls on board, than just a bunch of guys.

Bladerunner 1st Gear January 20, 2011 Share January 20, 2011 Bro, actually sg is a good place to learn diving cos our surrounding island's visibility is bad thus you'll be "force" to learn how to navigate... Wearing glasses is not a problem as there are masks with degree. Choose your dive school carefully as diving is a "sport" with a degree of safety measures that must follow... try not to go to those that certified you as "open diver" after a few lessons. Yes, diving is indeed addictive, you must have the right buddies and once you start, it's had to stop... for a start, just get yourself a pair of mask, snorkles, gloves, booties, fins, diving knife, dive torch, weight belt and if you are training in sg waters, jus get a thin lycra suit should be good enough. If you plan to go further, than get the bc, regulators, dive comp, etc... Happy diving!!! Remember the golden rule - Never Dive Alone!

Bladerunner 1st Gear January 21, 2011 Share January 21, 2011 wont let you dry bro... those basic stuffs that i'd mentioned will cost a couple of hundreds... but as some bro mentioned, you can always use the dive centre's gear first... depends on yourself, mostly it's a personal hygiene thingy, you know what i mean... Jerms Clutched January 21, 2011 Share January 21, 2011 i strongly agree that school is not really important. its the instructor that makes the difference. the instructor need to still have the passion and the want to teach and to teach well... some dive schools are 1 man or 2 person operation and due to this some of them are jaded and are doing it for a living who dont have anymore passion. they will just teach the least you need to know and thats it.
