I was suprised that the Nissan Ignition coil was so expensive.

I changed my German car ignition coil for $360 (4pcs) and labour of $60 just a few month ago.

I think there is a great difference in prices between standalone coil and coil-on-plug.

Optra is coil on plug. 4 coils per set n only abt $60 per set. Seems damm cheap. Usually optra parts quite ex.

I don't really understand. How come more than 1 coil will simultaneously busted? Each coil have independent transistor to switch it off and on. Did they replaced the electronic module for the ignition coil?

Any reliable workshop to reco? Want to try next time.

Sorry typo . Coil is 4x $220 + spark plug 4x $50.

Just for comparison

I'm driving a 20 year old Mercedes Benz 200E W124

It's a 2 litre car

My ignition coil is about $200(?) and my spark plugs are $8 per piece

I thought my car spare parts were comparable to Japanese cars but now I know I'm wrong

Yours is much much more expensive :D

Reviving this thread because I just got a 9yo cs3. Need to change ignition coil, spark plug, rocker cover gasket, plug cable but the damage a bit high for me in the workshop I got a quote in.

Anybody can recommend a WS in JB that can help install the parts I will get from stockist?
