I think it's a 4WD thing, to lock into "low range" gear or something, the setting used for extreme low speed torque for off-roading I think, afaik,

 

maybe fellow 4WD enthusiasts can better explain it?

that should be the 4 X 4 gear.

Just like SAF Land Rover with 2 gears.

Think you will see it in jeeps, Land rovers, it is to change the normal ratio of gears to smaller ratio, so that you can crawl when off road tight situation?

Technically, it is transfer case shifter to lock in 2WD OR 4WD

eh i have not driven before ... how do you engage these gears? switch when stationary or while moving no problem?
