Wizzercool 1st Gear August 25, 2011 Share August 25, 2011 Just curious - Have you bought the Peugeot 508? Not yet, I will buy only when they resolved the sat nav issue. $160k is a lot of money to me. I don't want to spend the money on a car that has a known defect. Imagine, everyday, how frustrated it could be when I looked at the SAT NAV button knowing it doesn't work. ↡ Advertisement
Andycheng9110 Neutral Newbie August 26, 2011 Share August 26, 2011 hahaha true....... hopefully they will resolve the problem soon too. i think it's just a matter of time. E.g if there are a healthy population of Peugeot 508 owners here in singapore, they will then develop the software haha
Wizzercool 1st Gear August 31, 2011 Share August 31, 2011 Crap, went to showroom again. Asked the on-duty SE (lady). She is totally clueless about the GPS map and claimed that all the conti car's GPS does not work. I wonder how she can keep her job in selling car when she knowledge is so limited. I have to educate her that Renault, Saab, Audi, VW and etc have working GPS (SG map) in their cars. I also checked the back seat legroom. Peugeot 508 is the worst when compared with Passat, C5, K5 and Lattitude, S60&80. Sianz half liao. Anyone know who should I call to check on the SG map thingz? Axela72 5th Gear August 31, 2011 Share August 31, 2011 (edited) I also checked the back seat legroom. Peugeot 508 is the worst when compared with Passat, C5, K5 and Lattitude, S60&80. Sianz half liao. Anyone know who should I call to check on the SG map thingz? Any idea which other cheaper car has better front cockpit as 508? If leg room is your 1st priority, why not go for Superb with boring cockpit? Their price different is not far apart but best Leg room. IMO better than 508 but let down by its engine & gearbox. So LL , 508 is still top on my list for the price range of less than $160K. Skoda Superb, Cat B COE, 1.8 turbo, keyless entry, fantastic boot and amazing rear leg room; $154k only, cheaper than 508. But it has one killer feature that I will not even bother to test drive it; HANDBRAKE.
Wizzercool 1st Gear August 31, 2011 Share August 31, 2011 In the 508, there are 2 buttons that were blank-ed. Just found out that the feature that are missing (represented by the 2 buttons) are Massage Seat (driver seat) and Heated Seats. Massage Seat is "shiok" but nice to have only Heated Seat not required in Singapore.

That speak so much on the car, let alone owning it. Thy have come a long way yet failed in GPS product knowledge, how can you enjoy the ride knowing fully well, it does not work. Juz my thought on another bro who mentioned for another $10K, you get 18' rim . . . the crack is there for your taking, U go to tnay rims shop and choose your 'stylo-mylo' rims at less the fraction. Yes, you can own the Pug, but when the time comes for upgrading, you'll find no resale value. and most used car dealers do not advised taking it, simply no Pug buyers. Sagurax Neutral Newbie August 31, 2011 Share August 31, 2011 agent wise, i suggest u better take a look at the feedback in peugeot forum b4 u consider i wont say any more got some cars inside there been inside workshop for more than half their lifespan It's better to follow his advise. Because French Cars are good in their design but lifespan wise not so reliable.
Sagurax Neutral Newbie August 31, 2011 Share August 31, 2011 You can try Opel Insignia For instance if you are comparing the size range of conti cars. . If you interested, you can pm me for details. =)

If you interested, you can pm me for details. =) Bro, I have also checked on the Opel Insignia. I am sure you know the spec level of the Opel is not very good when compared to competitors in the same price range. Opel Insignia, car of the year 2009 or 2010, but the local model does not have many features. $167K No keyless entry No GPS
Wizzercool 1st Gear August 31, 2011 Share August 31, 2011 If they want to sell immediately, they can buy a same size Garmin and paste it over Cannot-lah, their factory fitted eMyWay or WIP GPS system already integrated into the headunit (and LCD screen). True but it is the same for most of the contis too; Renault, Citroen, Saab, Volvo, Opel. Skoda. Looking at current Jap/Korean models, nothing interesting in the price range of <160K. Andycheng9110 Neutral Newbie August 31, 2011 Share August 31, 2011 yep that's what i was saying earlier..... i think sooner or later they will develop the software. but honestly even if there is no gps, i will go for the allure plus specs (with the full lcd screen). No offence to anybody but I dont think i will like the Active specs with the duo-color half display panel with a hole below it.
