Trex101 3rd Gear April 16, 2012 Share April 16, 2012 in my opinon....stock copper plugs are good enough as Copper is a better conductor of eletrictiy than Iridium...so if you change spark plugs on every 10k servicing, go for stock ones. one piece only $3+ Iridium are for people who drag till 50k before changing plug That is why even iridium plugs are also using "copper core" but centre electrode uses iridium, the smaller diameter of the centre electrode concentrate the spark which also lower the voltage required to jump the gap. So not true that copper plugs will perform equally compare to iridium under any condition or mileage. That is why most OEM are specifying more iridium as stock equipment for better emission and FC. ↡ Advertisement

OEM give us iridium spark plug because we pay for the iridium spark plugs gimmicks. Actually copper electrode spark plugs also can shaped with small diameter centre electrode. In fact simpler if we just file the centre electrode to work like needle My previous Kelisa did not even had to gap the spark plugs
