By the way, congrats on the arrival of your twins [:)]

Just a word of advice to TS when shopping for 159s, try to look out those that are still under the 5 years warranty programme with free service with EA.

Wah .. nice, I was always eying the S3 2-door hatch (not the Sportsback) .. very understated, with chrome mirrors and all. I would haven chosen manual over the S-tronic DSG thingy also.

Noticed there's a thread on this in AROC but it dies off 3 months ago with no conclusive findings?

Anyway, spotted a black 159 last evening at Tampines St 44. NICE!

Hmm..I dunno for sure, but I would be a bit surprised if that were the case. It doesn't quite seem logical - unless it was only the free servicing that expired and not the warranty itself. Or maybe it was for a particular car due to warranty conditions not being met?

It was confirmed by Kimi when she went for her last servicing couple of weeks back.

mmm...the car is under warranty, not the driver......cannot understand why the warranty does not apply to second (or subsequent) owner...

is this the norm for other brands as well?

I think the main reason for going back for servicing is the warranty issue. If it's void and null for subsequent owners, I figure there's no reason patronising them instead of 3rd party workshops then?

What does this mean? If car is still under warranty, but not me as the second driver, how am I going to claim for anything?

OK have got clarification.

The standard warranty for Alfa is 3 years 60,000

The 5 years / 100,000 is a "local" adddition to build confidence and as a sales promotion come protection of investment.

If you are the second (or subsequent) owner you still enjoy the standard 3 yr / 60,000 manufaccturer warranty. However you won't get the additional two years, as this follow the first owner.

Ahh... so all the sgcarmart advertised used cars all will be honoured to 60k despite what it claims...

OR three years, whichever comes first - but I must say, if you are owning an Alfa and driving it so little then I think there's something wrong
