Thedream 3rd Gear April 9, 2011 Share April 9, 2011 relocating battery within the engine bay more an issue of the bracket than the cable... not easy to find... if you're driving a front-heavy car (e.g. FF), want to balance it out for better handling, and don't mind taking up some space in the boot, you can consider moving the battery to the boot. Usually will require drilling 2 holes for the two posts, but you should not need to fabricate any brackets. Your battery should also last longer as it's not exposed to the heat in the engine bay. For the cable, there's a shop at AMK Autopoint that sells. Not sure which one because it's my mechanic there who went upstairs to buy...

Anyone knw any wireman that can do the job? Need to extent the wire longer to another side. Thanks many many The best place for battery is actually in the trunk. Cause the heat in the engine bay actualyl shorten the battery life.
Yeobh 4th Gear April 23, 2011 Share April 23, 2011 Battery in trunk suffer from lack of air circulation ( heat built up). The long battery cable to the starter , over time will cause voltage drop due to copper wire aging. ↡ Advertisement
