Edwardthy 1st Gear April 9, 2011 Share April 9, 2011 What are you trying to compare?
SimonTan 2nd Gear April 9, 2011 Share April 9, 2011 I think he is trying to compare the perception of expensive so that he can sell at higher price the red color one. Honestly, what is the use of this carpet in the car? Do you go to beach, sandy, muddy, dusty often? Even so, what use is this carpet? To trap dirt? One still need to clean the dirty carpet often, no matter what type. I don't really understand what is the selling point putting such carpets in cars. Parkingidiot 1st Gear April 10, 2011 Share April 10, 2011 but very expensive. for me, the stock carpets will do fine. I agree. I have been using the stock carmats since day 1 until now, about 6 years later, but now really wear and tear so they have outlived the purpose. So I recently sourced for el cheapo carmats to replace and found the 3m lookalike dirt trapper. My take on the required features... my old carmats suffered from the problem that they never stayed in place on the car floor. They were always moving - so did not serve their purpose fully. I felt that an important feature for carmats should be they must have non-slip grips...ie. once placed on the car floor - they should remain in place until removed for cleaning. Another important feature - the carmats must be cut to shape to fit the particular car floor. This helps in non-slip, for one, and it protects the car's built-in carpet. A final must have feature is build quality - I don't want to be replacing carmats every year, so the mat should be of good quality material and thickness that can last for several years. Other features like thickness and heel pads and dirt trapping capabilities, are good to have but not essential.
