Prius (taxi model) is a 5 seater vs the rest.  Do you need to fetch 6-7 pple regularly or only occasionally? If regularly, Prius is out.

If you fetch occasionally, and they are kids, Prius+/Honda Freed hybrid is fine.  But price delta btw the 2 is about 10k depending on the spec you choose for Freed.  Some pple prefer the more conventional design of Prius+ vs the boxy design of Freed/Noah (eg. my wife).

 

If you would like something much bigger and you do fetch 6-7 adults or elderly pple regularly and would like the space, Noah is the choice.

 

Currently, i am looking at Prius+ and Freed hybrid as well mainly bec of the hybrid engine.

I.seldom go on the highway.. always on congested roads... fc dropped to 5.3L/100km total of 80km average speed 22km/h... 90 congested city / 10 highway...

 

Rained today so I can finally answer this. undercarriage and wheelwell soundproofing is very good. not much road noise or splash noise. Roof sound proofing is acceptable. Not as good as my Chevrolet Captiva but way better than my old Nissan Sunny. Roof sound proofing slightly better my 2.0 Toyota wish.

 

Congrats for the new ride.  For slower traffics about 40-60 km/h, the HSD is more fully deployed. Try to maximise the deployment of traction motors (hybrid motors) by reducing the pressure on fuel pedal once the car pick up acceptable pace... this will ensure ICE does not cut in or stay on too often.  Try it and share out your own driving tips.

 

Sound insulation is pretty good if the reference is WISH, much better than Qashqai (my last ride) which is already good.  wind noise is minimum as Prius+ is quite slippery with good CD, something SUVs design don't bother.  The noise come mainly from the tires, especially on bad surface, the noise can be reduced by lower tires pressure but may impact FC.  On good surface, the Prius+ on HSD is reasonably quiet.

The triplets' noise is higher especially at middle and last row seats. That can't change unless you are willing to invest on sound deadening on all its sides panels including the doors.  Not sure about Honda Freed hybrid.

Your requirement on comfy suspension and lesser road noise is hard to find on hybrids.  If hybrid is cardinal, the option is sedan or wagon. To hold anything (minimise excessive body roll) larger or taller, the suspension travel got to be shorter and harder.  Even for Prius+, I find it a bit hard for most digged up and patched up SG roads.

that is a good summary. For me there is another need. I have to ferry my wheechair bound mother once in a while and my current toyota wish is perfect in its ability to house the wheelchair flat lying on the side. The Prius+ is able to do that as well. I was considering the freed before but the 3rd row seats that fold upwards irked me. I looked to the Sienta after that due to how the 3rd row seats fold under the 2nd row. But Sienta is tight widthwise, and slightly underpowered especially the hybrid. Lastly having to deal with PI for both Sienta and Freed hybrid is also a downside for me. The fabric seats are good. But I have a kid and he often munches in the car. so i prefer leather seats ad they are easier to clean.

For me, the car does not need any accessories but we (Prius+ Owners) in future may form a chat group to further collaborate and exploit the best of this hybrid.  Ok, for a start, you may want to bring along an iPhone (latest update) to immediate test out the Apple Carplay, Waze so far has shown the best stability and usefulness within SG.  Additional USB chargers for the front and back passengers.

 

As for the car itself, the quality of built is very high (Made in Japan) and I really couldn't find any faults.  One thing you can do is to remove the plastic rim protectors to check on the actual rims for perfect condition. Front and back undercarriage for possible sign of damage during vehicle shipment/movement prior to you taking over.

Great to have a group for Prius+ driver as we can share the infor. Did you change the car seats to leather? As I sweat easily so wonder if I should change it later. Any suggestion for people who swears easily to protect the seat? As originally it is fabric material.

On Suspension:  It was the first time the car was laden with 7 adults yesterday night. The journey was from Kovan to Clementi and back. And the "performance" of a loaded car was put to test.  The general observations and comments are as follow:

 

1.   The car loves to be loaded (I think most cars do) and the harder suspension become more "comfortable" even for bad road.

2.   There is no feel of power lacking.  The HSD remains versatile to adopt and the slow drive (mostly on EV) impressed the occupants with the quietness.  This was the first time we had 7s in a car and there was no shouting match!  Everyone was heard.

3.   The 7s are all about 1.7m in height (think this is the standard Asian height), leg and head space were well paced by moving the middle seats 2 clicks forward, the 3rd row agreed that to continue to Meleka or KL would not be a problem (Planned to anyway).  The air-condition also adequate and the 3rd row occupants could feel the blower air (speed setting 3-4, 23C directed just under the roof).

 

It was an enjoyable journey.

I paid S$115K and that come with leather seats and I believed you paid much less:)  Think you should get the leather-wrapped as early as possible.  The workmanship for Borneo cars is not bad and you may ask your SE to link you up for the leather things.

 

Just put your head at ground level and look around the front and back undercarriage.  And be careful if you love to park head in.  Reverse park is usually no issue with SG Carparks.

Actually you can get leather upholstery installed for lesser than 1.8k. Borneo motors get them wrapped by 3rd party installer anyway, and if you do it yourslef you can have the option of different color/grade/stiching leather and/or dual tone color scheme as well.
