May be I will go for the Prius + Would be good if we can hear from you about Prius+ VS Freed Thanks. First and foremost I want to declare that I am not working for any PI or Agents for Toyota/Prius+. Take a look at Honda I-DCD design. It is a big step forward as compared to previously IMA hybrid. Honda feed, shuttle have no problem achieving at least 20km/l and prius plus only managed to achieve 18km/l.

On ZR series engine, Prius Alpha has achieved 18km/L Imagine new model with TNGA chassis and dynamic force engine. ZR is more than 10 years old. ZR is more than 10 years old. 18km/l is not impressive for hybrid. Non-hybrid full sized sedan Altis can do 12km/l. While smaller engine like Note & Attrage can do 16km/l. Double (of Altis) to 24km/l then is call impressive. Hope they don take too long to get 24km/l; as more B&B EV cars are appearing.

I am not sure whether owner knows how to drive in Electric mode. That knowledge has impact on FC.
Sopskysalat 4th Gear October 29, 2018 Share October 29, 2018 Hybrid is extremely useful when moving around town where it shows its supremacy. If you commute more highway and unless you are in EV mode, the added usefulness of hybrid will diminished relative to modern direct injection engine such as Mazda 3, golf etc. If you look at official fuel consumption figure from manufacturer, extra-urban performance is lower than urban. 20/80 for Hwy/City is good but can be better (the reasons you couldn't do it is understandable, all Prius drivers face the same challenge, explicitly or implicitly). 80% City is very taxing for the car and driver especially on the numerous re-take offs. For the past few days, I really appreciate the torque from the Prius' 60KW motors, it made take offs, inching between traffic, stop-starts and parking a breeze. And all these fuel taxing tasks are almost entirely by electric.
Heartbreakid 6th Gear October 31, 2018 Share October 31, 2018 Any current Prius Alpha / Plus owners can provide feedback on the following: 1) Insulation against raindrops, wet roads (whereby splashing noise of the water). 2) Road noise on different surfaces. These are the things can't really tell on a short test drive. Thank you.

If the sound is firm knock, then this car has sound proofing.

But 30km is short, after one tank will reveal yr city/hw mix and get the real-life FC. BTW, Chan CS also drive Prius.

Rained today so I can finally answer this. undercarriage and wheelwell soundproofing is very good. not much road noise or splash noise. Roof sound proofing is acceptable. Not as good as my Chevrolet Captiva but way better than my old Nissan Sunny. Roof sound proofing slightly better my 2.0 Toyota wish.
