Berncsp76 6th Gear August 1, 2011 Share August 1, 2011 IF can afford, but those split unit instead. Casement not that cold and kinda noisy...moreover electric consumption is quite high. But If have to buy, take Sanyo. Mine is Mitsubishi though.
Vinepro Clutched August 1, 2011 Share August 1, 2011 If you got a big room , take Europace 9000BTU casement. The rest are around 7000BTU +-
Mugen85 1st Gear August 1, 2011 Author Share August 1, 2011 Not considering split aircon as it can be quite messy. I use to have a mitsubishi before changing to carrier. Carrier is a big disappointment. Mitsubishi Tiara is rated the best casement unit but no longer in production. My concern is which produce less noise. My room is pretty small so BTU is not a concern. Sanyo due to its energy efficiency of 1 tick will not be allowed in the market as effect from Sept. Parts will be a problem should it break down in future. Headache thinking which one to go for. Thanks all for the input. Appreciated.
Tom_kkh 1st Gear August 2, 2011 Share August 2, 2011 nowadays i see those aircon with wheels, portable type. good?
Mightymito 1st Gear August 2, 2011 Share August 2, 2011 No they are not good at all. Firstly in sucks in air through the front then part of the air is cooled and recirculated back into the room, the rest is used to cool the condenser then blown out of the room. Hence air is continuosly removed from the room and uncooled outside air must come in through all openings to the room. The duct that expels how air gets very hot and radiates heat. Water collects in a container and fills quite fast. ↡ Advertisement
