Real Racing 2 rocks. It's not free, but it's definitely worth the money. IMHO better than NFS.

I have just about all the highly rated ones in my iPhone / iPad - NFS Shift, NFS UNdercover, Drift Mania, RidgeRacer, F1 '09. The best I think is Real Racing 2, followed by NFS Shift 2, the NFS Undercover. Drift Mania and RidgeRacer is horrible.

thanks :D .... btw, is RR2 less 'arcade' but more realistic than the NFS series? (sorry if iPad games are all arcade type)

NFS series is way too easy to drive, and there's too much driver assist. So you won't get into too much trouble for your indiscretions. But what's great about the game is the cars are cool, although it's long overdue for an update.

RR2 even with skid control & driver assist on, you'll get "punished" for taking corners too fast. There's also no racing lines indicators. However the skid marks on the roads are good indicators of where to enter a corner. If you miss the ideal racing line your timings will suffer. RR2 is way more realistic in term of car behavior and speed, and definitely less 'arcade' than any others I have played. And contrary to what many may think, the fastest way through a corner is not sideways, it is about staying in traction and taking the correct line.

IMHO, a good racing game, whether it's on the iPAD or on computer have to be like RR2. The controls and car behavior must be realistic, the choice of cars must be realistic and cool. For a few extra bucks you even can buy funds from iTune buy some really fantastic cars just for the heck of it. For this and more, I give RR2 full marks.

I got the impression the game is much like Ferrari GT. Please tell me more about the game, is it worth trying?
