no offence but if one is driving a japanese/korean car, he will likely have the mindset as what you mentioned. if another person is driving german cars like audi merc bmw, he will have another sort of mindset. not trying to say which mindset is more correct but our surrounding and experience are v likely to shape and affect what and how we think. sometimes, people buy something, in order to console themselves and reinforce their purchase decisions, they tell themselves that product is good and better than others, using parameters that favour themselves again (can be from either camps of car buyers)

 

to me, one question remain.. if one is rich enough, will he still settle for kr/jp cars or german offerings?

 

therefore, it is very simple. money is the biggest deciding factor [cool]

 

(P.S i drive a cheap non-luxury german car)

 

but still, i love the KIA optima :D

 

Well, definitely. Money IS the main deciding factor. I couldnt agree more. Perhaps this is the general sentiments from the customers who have seen K5

i could always justify each car i'd bought... Suzuki, Ford, Holden, Alfa Romeo, Hyundai's..

 

now VW Jetta Sport and KIA Optima K5..., both do well what I bought them for, at the prices I was willing to pay for them. And i love it every time i go vroom vroom in them ! :D

 

(maybe other brands/cars when i'm ready for them)...

bro, both are great cars.

 

to be honest, between the two.. my heart favours the optima more. its just that damn sexy. i did consider giving up my current scirocco for it.. but abit misaligned for me due to my age. (no offence to anyone here) hence, gave it up [laugh] maybe next time.. but prefer the direct injection turbocharged version if possible.

Yes, Sir! that would surely broaden the appeal of the K5, i personally think...

 

The car's already well ahead of the pack in looks. A broader range of engine options should ( i'm sure WILL) will capture those looking for more advanced technology and higher hp/torque...

 

but C&C/KIA thinks otherwise, i'm afraid (that's what the SE's told me). I may just be peeved for awhile if they do a U-turn quickly..., but good for bro's like you who's prepared to wait a bit.

Very soon, Hyundai will be launching their 1.6TGDi 206bhp 6DSG on the Veloster.

 

 

I'm pretty sure they'll also put the 6DSG or even 7DSG then in the 2.0TGDi. But we're talking about now though, and Hyundai seems to be delee-dalying in launching their new products. I wonder why.

Ya, to be honest, I will not be paying 100k and above for a Kia........ but the exterior is cool!

 

 

Most important it is still cheaper than many of the popular Jap models of the same range. Cannot expect too low because of the high COE.

Speaking of Jap model teana 2.0 going for 130k and camry 2.0 going for 138k this weekend. Who know scully Mazda silently having clearance sale too.

Yes, you are right, BMW and Merc has branding but you have to pay a higher price for it. Fair enough. You get what you pay for.

 

For $150k what kind of car with branding can you get? None! Anyone who thinks that for $150k +/- you can get a branded car must be living in the past. Please, don't tell me cars like Camry, Accord, Teana has branding.

 

Now coe expensive so normal earning ppl got no choice but to go korean. if coe is cheap i think most ppl wouldn't even consider it. Its like buying a new LG hp which is slim, have big screen and 3D ect but i would rather use my old iphone 3gs because branding matters. You cant change the fact what most singaporean are thinking.

The problem is still on most of the local car buyer mindset - korea car must be cheap. :wacko:

But they forget that modern korean car are as good or even better than their nippon competitor.

As I mention in another post, I am seeing more Hyundai/Kia on Germany road compare to Toyota/Honda as I visit there often. The price there is similar to the Japanese car.

 

I seriously disagree that Korean cars are better then Jap cars. But I believe they are getting better. Koreans make beautiful cars but not neccessary good reliable cars until they have proven down the road through many years which the Japs have done it. You are saying like a China car owner will say China cars are better. Moreover, seeing more Hyundai/Kia cars then Jap Honda and in Germany means they are better. Let them prove slowly thru the years.

economic are bad. so ppl are going for cheaper options. korean the way to go lol

 

just like food. 2 reason why they is alot ppl.

 

1. food is really good. dont think korean call falls in the cat.

 

2. food is really cheap. cheap and lots of add ons only make its a lesser car. even geylang chicken will see u no up driving a korean car
