Price dipped again... Should be about S$110k liao...

I also thought that the price should be $110K or even lower. However, the sales staff explained that the $116K at COE $70K during CNY time was based on demo units and many who bought during that time did not get their cars. Hence, their discounted price is still $116,999.

OK, let's say that the CNY time is not a good gauge, let's take reference from the last bid. After the recent drop of $8K, Orlando's price dropped from $121k to $117K. It should be $113K. But the sales replied that I can try but low chance ... :-(

Have not collected yet as shipment is in September.

Do you know if in September you would be getting the facelifted Orlando sold by Chevrolet Korea since the second half of 2014?

The facelifted Orlando has new LED tail lamps and daytime running lights in the front head lamps.

Bro kmttan... food for thought..

...it may be coincidental, or that Alpine has truly done a fair bit of work to maneuvre the Orlando into the Ave. Carbuyers' sweetspot, i.e.

> Down Payment : this determines the min outlay for consumer ~range (35k to 55k)

> Depreciation : Orlando has relatively lower depn than its rivals

> Road Tax : this is probably one of the USPs (as compared cars within the same class, this car saves up to 7,500 over 10 years)
> Premium : relatively above average

> OMV : affects the max loan / downpayment amt...

> ARF : directly proportionate to the OMV...

> COE category

...but the way LTA has structured the COE categorisation, which has set the Orlando off to a higher COE tier due to the higher bhp. In this area, the Pug5008 has scored, as the bhp is 119, which is just 1bhp away from Cat B. Unfortunately, the Pug5008 has a higher OMV, which increases min down-payment; and despite the lower bhp but higher torque being attributed to a 1.6diesel, it also results in relatively higher Road Tax, poorer emission and all... ... ... So on and so forth for other rivals...

Whether Alpine would wriggle itself closer to the Sweetspot, remains to be seen... higher paper value may not necessary be good, as it translates to higher depn y-o-y (e.g. 13k diff in COE price = +1.3k extra depn y-o-y). In this sense, AD is compelled to find a mid-point to achieve balance/moderation.

But then... considering that to remain competitive in the market, one does not necessary need to drastically lower premiums to match others, as there may be buyers who might be willing to pay higher premiums for an all-rounded contender. This is probably Alpine's stance, as their premiums has been(or adjusted to) consistently around the % 30s range.
.
..
...
But as Bro Acosean forecasted, anything can happen with the GE (+Quota) and 7mth around the corner... COE S$35K might materialise? By then, 30% premium would still work itself to S$9X,XXX/- range; and Bro BigLittleBean will start scouting for new car liao...

Lower COE/paper value good... those bought at S$70k COE will depreciate S$10K more over 3 years... :TT_TT:

My mileage now is about 7.5k... Just clocked another 500km last week when I drove to Melaka. Strictly speaking, my car is about 6months old as I collected the car on 14th Feb this year.

Brother Biglittlebean,

How is the quality of the Orlando solar film in terms of heat rejection?

So far, I feel that it is not as good as the one I installed on my previous car. Could feel my skin burning when driving long trip to Melaka last week. I also don't know the heat and UV rejection for the free solar film.

When I bought my Orlando in Nov 2014, I already asked Alpine when this facelifted Orlando would arrive in Singapore. I was told it should be in 2015. Now its already almost August of 2015 and I have yet to see this facelift here. I wonder why.....

Anyway, these new Orlando head lights and tail lights have started appearing in eBay for people who wants to upgrade them.

Talked to one of the sales from Alpine,he said the factory is very slow. In Korea, steering wheel on the left. They did not facelift the right side steering wheel yet. Still don't know when the facelift version will come to SG.

More likely they still have excess stocks of the pre-facelifted version sitting on the docks.

It may be unbelievable but Chevrolet in Malaysia is still selling the old non-turbo 1.8LT Orlando today that Singapore has already sold out nearly 2 years ago. Probably still trying to clear stock!!

Honda has brought in Accura..

Hyundai has brought in Genesis...

Toyota has Lexus...

Porsche has the Cayenne / Maccan

About time GM brought in Buick (Enclave) or Cadillac (SRX / ESV) to up the game... Give the Cayenne, NX Turbo, and MDX a run for their money...

Confirm from Alpine that GM Korea only face-lifted the Left Hand Drive Orlando for now.

Guess that Korean and Euro country will enjoy the new look Orlando first.

I think by changing head lights and tail lights is an easy job but why limited to only Left hand drive only.

Urgent help needed here!

First, when buying Orlando, what's my maximum loan possible? Is it 50% or 60%?

Second, is there any package (including in-house ones) that provides us with interest-free loan?

Unfortunately no more Orlando are sold in Europe anymore, other than the remote islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique, two overseas departments of France near the Americas.

This was what I found out when I recently visited their only showroom in Paris which now only sell one Chevrolet model - the Corvette sports car.

Thanks!

Is the 60% loan @ 2.28% their in-house finance package?

Can I choose a shorter repayment period, i.e. 1 year (monthly repayment) so that I don't end up paying lots on interest?
