Received payments from overseas customer before.

- you need to inform your customer that your name [as in NRIC] to appear in the transaction.

- customer inform you the transaction nos and password/security word.

- you go to a Western Union branch [iirc Singpost is also agent for Western Union], fill in the form with the transaction nos, password/security word and present your NRIC.

- received your funds, and that it.

Do you know how much do they charge sender and receiver for the transfer service?

I always use T/T to make overseas payment but it is a hassle to queue up in bank especially during beginning of the months. Bank charges $30 to the sender for every transaction made.

Can't remember how much they charge. If I am not wrong, the sender can pay for the charges at both ends, so that the receiver can expect the agreed amount.

For T/T payment, I believe you can apply for online facility to avoid queue. I am using OCBC Velocity online to pay overseas suppliers, in the event that the overseas suppliers cannot accept credit card payment [which is my preferred mode].

Thanks for yr prompt reply. Currently I only accept payments via paypal or T/T ( for only purchases more than s$1,000). Many of my potential customers are mechanics/workshop owners from surrounding regions and many have to hold back their orders due to payment problem. So it looks like with WU most of them should not have any more payment transaction problem :D
