Last point is a joke. You dont take SMRT, you drive car? walk? take NEL? She laugh all the way to the bank thinking of it. In her S300. Huh fit or not ? How much economic damage is she intending to cause? What is the her pay compared to how much losses we as a country is going to pay for this kind of slow actions? CH_CO 6th Gear December 18, 2011 Share December 18, 2011 (edited) her pay should be donated to charity until the mrt is running smoothly and commuters are confident.. Agreed , no pay should be given until she sorts out this mess, since she say she is not quitting. Seriously no sincerity from her to stay in her job and drag her ass and continue taking her pay. By the way , no backdate and bonus should be allowed to given , SMRT should pay for the economic damages to the people paying them for their services. Since we cannot say no to increments in our trip fees only to see 10% growth in dividends in a company providing public transport. Tell me where the increase in base cost go to cited the reason behind a hike of trip fares ??? Higher energy prices? If rightfully so , SMRT should be barely breaking even and not making 18% returns so that she can pay her own bonus and inflated pay driving a ferrari while the most of the population gets stuck. Dividend paid last year 2010 was at 8.5 cents as compare to 7+ the year before. Edited December 18, 2011 by CH_CO
Felipe 3rd Gear December 18, 2011 Share December 18, 2011 Could have been quotes: 1. MRTs bound to breakdown sometimes, it is up to the commuters to accept this or not; There was a Today quote from a US commuter who said breakdowns happen in NY subway too. he probably thought our transport leaders are paid as much as the ones in NY. CH_CO 6th Gear December 18, 2011 Share December 18, 2011 (edited) At SMRT, we believe it is the fundamentals that count above all else. That is why, no matter how far we’ve come, we remain guided by our commitment and core values, and always return to basics. Good foundation is what moves us forward and drives us to offer not just safe, reliable and affordable transport services every single day, but the best travel experience possible for our customers. We keep raising the bar, because they expect no less from us, nor we of ourselves. ------------------------------------- Quoted from SMRT 2010 report http://www.smrt.com.sg/investors/documents...010_Low_Res.pdf Personally i only see the trip fare increasing nia , guess they expect no less than whatever we are paying on daily basis , since raising their bar is expected Edited December 18, 2011 by CH_CO

BroAlan Neutral Newbie December 18, 2011 Share December 18, 2011 how long u think she will need? Not that i am questioning her abilities , there is a big difference between problem solving and wayang kulit , no offense but i seriously doubt she fits the job given to her. If she say the problem need 3 years we give her 3 years when others can probably get it solve in 1? Seriously problems like that , she should give us the confident look to show us that she can HANDLE the problem , not show us the SHACK look showing that she can't. Seriously , she never even serve NS , show us the shack cannot think face how to be confident in her? If your officer give you this kind of face , would you shake your head? http://www.channelnewsasia.com/components/...p?id=475489?123 Given last time , if the train stopped , the CEO would be the first one to inspect what is wrong , as with the 1st gen politicians. Now the 3rd gen ? Sit in office? Hide at home? Seriously , the minister even without sleep should allocate all the resources they can find and sort this out immediately , even if it means employing the civil defense dept to help since if nothing happen they are just siting there. What happen to the fluid co-operation between garmen and private sector? One have s--t the others stand at side look? You guys telling me that those "practice" crisis management on terrorist attacks cannot be used here? HARLO ???? Stop dreaming!!! Same what got problem , use the resources lah , 3 days in the row on a NATIONAL transport where everyone needs it , you should treat this as important as a terrorist attack , it affect national interest as the economic damage is greater than what you think, to MS Saw if you need help , open your mouth and ASK for help! Ppls please she just bought her ferrari, need 3 yrs to pay off the loan
Curahee 1st Gear December 18, 2011 Share December 18, 2011 From her callous remarks over last few years, she has no love for the SMRT systems nor Singapore. She only knew how to cut cost and earn money and because of population growth, it seems she is good at it. And this is a monopoly. Not happy dont take her trains or buses? We cant. Privatise public transport into a nice monopoly. Too bad lah. I feel her boss, TH is the one to be blame. TH dun care abt service, they juz want to see money on the table to cover their huge portfolio loss, she will not bite the hand that feed her, will be obedient and rack in millions every yr at the expense of the commuters in order to satisfy TH greed for money. CKP 3rd Gear December 18, 2011 Share December 18, 2011 (edited) Unless the "claws" dislodged problem was only caused very recently, I wonder why the schedule check did not discover the problem. The person(s) who did the check no expertise to discover, or plain lazy or what?? There was CNA clip "Deeper look into MRT breakdowns". A reasonable analysis is there provided by Dr PARK.
