I'm going to change my tires within the next few weeks since hitting 40k already. Shortlisted Continental CPC5 and Michelin Primacy 3.

 

Online reviews for both are good, anyone has experience with these? Especially the Michelin?

 

Forgot to mentioned, if you don't mind an "older" new tyre, I found a lobang for Yoko Advan DB v551 at only $135/pc, made in Japan.  The shop is clearing some older stocks made in week 47 / 2014.

 

This is the lowest I found so far, unless going for the korean brand route.

Go for Michelin.

Continental tyre good for the 1st 20k only.

 

BTW, I am using Primacy 3 on my FXT.

 

How's the Michelin in terms of road noise and comfort? I was told the CPC5 has good comfort and noise performance.

 

The stock yokohama geolander on my car started becoming noisy by 15k.

Primacy 3 are original equip tyre for many conti  luxury model.

It target market are those luxury conti car. So quiet is important.

So far my tyre is almost 19k mileage, will see how it performance after 20k.

Been to a couple of shops but they do NOT have our gas type (1234) and the inlet adapter.

 

Have any of you been this ?

I do not want to go back to MI - will be exp and waiting.

By the way, how old is your ride?  A/c not cold that you need to top up gas?  Sorry, I do not have a suggestion for this at the moment.   But suggest you check with MI for a costing, better prepared when checking with outside workshop.

OMV of XV and FNA abt the same. Key diff here is the CEVS surcharge and COE. Jus this 2 alone is 9k diff,technically if consider an upgrade,FNA should be 9k higher than XV.

 

But then again, FNA is a much popular choice la.. i see XV rear leg room, i emo..

Hi Hobbes187, apparently the older version of the advan db had the bad reputation in wet condition.   Seems like this model v551 performs better based on feedback.   If budget is really not a concern, go for the Primacy 3 or the P7, sure won't go wrong.

It's unlikely but you should just check w the agent if you are in contact w a salesperson
