Hello to everyone !

I live in the U.K and have just purchased a used DR300 stating as new but requires software update.

Well it arrived today all complete in the original box including the sd card, when the unit is powered up the blue light just flashes slowly, no sound from the unit stating any errors.

I have formatted the sd card 3 times now and re-downloaded the software for the cam but when I plug cam back into the car still the same blue flashing light and nothing else :-(

Anyone know how I can fix this please ?

Wife giving me grief because she could not see why I needed a cam now it don't work !!

Help very much appreciated please :-)

Regards,

Simon

Send it back to the vendor.

if the powe magic is spoilt, then the green led light will not be on. so this is a way to check whether its faulty

Finally went back to the AD to have a look at the power magic unit and it was not a setting issue. The unit was malfunctioning!! Unfortunately because my warranty has expired, I had to replace it with a new set at full price. No discounts, no apologies or resource. So much for buying from the AD.. Might as well as get it cheaper from importers. But the thing that irks me most of this - YOU WILL HAVE NO IDEA THAT THE POWER MAGIC IS MALFUNCTIONING UNTIL YOUR CAR DOESN'T START ONE DAY. When that happens, you will waste time calling AA or other workshops to come as well as the battery cost. I have wasted so much time trying to diagnose the problem and spending more than $700 to replace 2 car batteries. And the AD didn't even want to give me a discount on the unit. Definitely not supporting them anymore even though I had recommended so many friends to blackvue.

helo...Used to experience the same thing, esp over humps etc http://www.aarms.com.au What I did was to set it at less sensivity and allocate more to Normal rather than Event and Parking modes.

Which model of backvue are u using?

My two DR400 installed front and rear has been working fine for almost two years liao. They are installed as driving recorders and not run 24/7.

[thumbsup]

used DR350 as front DVRs on 2x cars since 11/2010.., then switched to DR400G/350 as front/back on the rides since Q3 2011.

no issues, except the 400's run a bit hot..., the power socket on one of the 350 has become loose (and comes out together with the power plug when it's removed)., and sometimes "no SD card" message after heavy bump.

had some "problems" with the 16GB mSD cards but after replacing one, updating/reinstalling the software/firmware whenever any unit "didn't work"... all have run well.

also installed as driving recorders only.

Realistically, only "con's" ... relatively expensive (even now), and no integrated video screen (which really doesn't bother me)..,

Hi,

Recently, my DR500GW starts up with the voice "Blackvue for your safe driving, starting normal recording" when I move off but a few minutes later, the same voice command sounds off again...

I did not see it affecting the recordings but I am afraid that it may affect somehow.

Is anyone else expriencing this same issue? How to resolve it?
I will try to format the SD card later to try and resolve it.

seems like the unit is rebooting itself

maybe hardware , maybe sdcard issue.

anyway these cards have a lifespan,,, ( write cycles) depending on your usage,

I formatted the SD card and checked all the power connections to the DR500GW unit. Till now, it did not repeat the issue of restarting.

Will continue to monitor. The unit is really worth every buck in terms of image resolution and functionality.

Thanks for directing me to the correct stuff to look out for.

Hello! Just installed my Blackvue 550 today... when at the workshop the rear camera could work, and vids look ok, but when I tried to connect to the app on my Samsung S4, it couldn't detect the rear camera, so only the front camera was showing up in the live feed. Nothing in the manual says why though. Anyone with similar experience and has advice on how to troubleshoot? Thanks very much!!

Have you checked the AV wiring connecting the rear to the front cam? In recording mode, does it record both front and back? I have never experienced that on my 550 though.

Anyway, anyone knows how to disable the GPS function?

I've sent the car back to the workshop and they did a thorough check with front and back, only the front camera records, not the back, and the mechanic asked if there's supposed to be an additional battery pack for the rear camera to power it up. I have the batt-pack for the front, wasn't told i need one for the back though? Do you have one for each or just one for both?

geez this is really "pay peanuts get monkey", or am i the only one experiencing problem with this Qoo10 purchase?

Your car workshop seems incompetent. I got mine fixed at a bike workshop with no question asked. My car is having the iTronics ITB100HD though.

What battery pack are you referring to? There is no battery pack. Similarly, my purchase was from Qoo10 too. Power is supplied via the vehicle's battery. Or are you referring to the Power Magic Pro, which is not a battery pack?

The DR550GW is a very good 2-channel DVR. Hope you get your issues settled fast!

I've decided to give up on my Blackvue dr550. Its erratic behavior and unstability irks me. Can anyone who has jumped to another brand pass some recommendations please? I prefer it to be 2ch, has to be able to take high temp and the connectors have to be of quality built. My current DR550 can't detect the rear camera after I (have carefully!) unplugged the coaxial cable to access my SD card.

wANna ask is this a good price?

Yup this is probably the cheapest you can find. Warranty is from korea so you will need to ship it back if there's any issue. I have sent my 550 back before. Total waiting time to get it back is 4 - 6 weeks. Next, I feel there's sone qc issue with the connectors. Occasionally I will remove the sd card to copy the videos. In doing so, I need to unplug the rear cam cable. The connector is SO fragile, my rear cam is now non-detectable. There is no physical damage visible. And this is the 2nd time I have this issue. Gave up on blackvue.
