ER-3682 Supersonic September 14, 2012 Share September 14, 2012 Hi all. Anyone knows of a good workshop that does timing adjustment for old cars? ride has been sluggish lately n I feel the timing is out. Need to adjust. Thanks in advance. W124 Mercedes Benz M-102 engine is very easy to adjust, buy a timing light & can do it yourself,C.O. also can adjust by using a 3mm hex key on top of the airfilter cover. Mr_w124 Neutral Newbie September 15, 2012 Author Share September 15, 2012 Yes it is relatively easy to do. But don't have a timing light with me. Just went to a spc service station n they wanted to charge 45. Sounds too ex to me. Perhaps I will get a timing gun.
ER-3682 Supersonic September 15, 2012 Share September 15, 2012 For M-102 engine, just take note, make all vacuum hoses/rubber joints no leak, very important, for timing, usually turn near to max[advance],make sure the distribution cap's[known as 'sotong head'] contact points are clean...the rotor inside, the rounded surface must be clean, also the richer A/F ratio of 2% C.O. work best in our warm weather. Mr_w124 Neutral Newbie September 15, 2012 Author Share September 15, 2012 Ah yes. The 126. Truly a very nice n stately car. Absolutely rock solid build quality I heard. Been trying to look for a nice 300sel classic. Hard to find.

I also like the 300SEL 'Classic' model, until today[the youngest will be near 20 yrs old] still don't look 'out of place' in style...really timeless classic. ↡ Advertisement
