Shell Autoserv is "branded", so they will charge you more for labour.

Recently I approached Shell Autoserv for general servicing my car. They are very expensive. Initially they said lot of parts has be changed and when I said I do not want to spend too much, then they started cutting down some components saying that it is not necessary. Their parts prices are costlier than CC(dealer).

I will not go back to them next time.

My hiadee go there to oil change service his BMW 320i.  4.5 litre of Shell Helix Ultra(which I think is same as those on sale at NTUC sometimes selling below $35 for 4L), one oil filter(about $8 to $10).

Cost him $125.  So workmanship = $80 ?  Wow....

The older mechanics are very experienced. I went for radiator tank replacement quoted for $380, know their service more expensive, so just tried asking for discount, gave me $20 off, bill came they add 4 x hose clips at $5 a piece, only saw 1 installed, also not very sure whether new or my old one. Saw a porsche cayenne suv parked beside and behind service centre, suspect boss car? Wondering why so expensive? Maybe got profit sharing?

Most of you here cares only on prices.

May i know how cheap is cheap?

Put yourself in their shoes, would u want a monthly of 1500 while you could get 2000?

Dont u all knows that labour cost and rents had gone up?

My proposal to all of u is diy and that save u tons o monies.

Instead of spending more time to learn and improve your own trades you spend times hunting for the cheapest service and repairs workshop!

If one cant effort to pay for the maintenance then dont buy a car!

In owning a car dont u said it is too expensive on the yearly depreciation of between 6k to 11k?

U called this depreciation cheap as compares with the extra 10 dollars that they charge?

Wake up.
