Asus phone is actually not bad in terms of build quality but what I dun like is their proprietory apps aka Asus apps. Much like Google apps in Android. You can't totally remove them but only have the option of selecting manually doing updates. It won't auto update and slow your phone. You just leave them aside and not update the apps. LoL...

Ithink for Asus it's more difficult to root. I'm not very sure as I dun do it.

I have use a couple of HTC phones before. Build quality is light but plasticky. HTC and Asus are pretty similar but less of the annoying apps. Anyway Android phones are all the same after a while. HTC battery can be removed and Asus cannot. You have to see what you want, 3G or 4G.

Personally I still like iphone for the iOS, stable and consistent performance. I have an iphone6 and a Asus fonepad 7 (7") on kitkat. Asus performance is budget but I use it mostly as my organiser for my daily task and reminders and I only uses its wi-fi and sometimes bluetooth for my car OBDII BT adaptor. It's also my alarm clock. iPhone more for phone usage, games, navigation, text and camera.
