Wow! Thank you all for contributing.

Yes, my friend, I am looking to buy a new car. I am not really into cars... so me going to a 2nd-hand car dealer, is like a lamb walking into a lion's mouth.

Yes, in fact I will be going to showrooms with a measuring tape. The critical factor will be the tip of the front bumper to the edge of the rear wheels.... the boot area after the rear tyre is not a problem as it is raised, hence it can 'overlap' the grass/pavement when my rear tyre backs up to the curb.

Recently when driving, I have been paying attention to hatchbacks on the road. I realised that some hatchbacks have a rather long bonnet (engine), which makes it a rather 'big' car despite being a hatchback.

Hey thanks for the compilation. I have also scanned thru sgcarmart for the comparison on paper. Alfa is indeed attractive. It will be one of my shopping stops. But I am rather concerned about its infamous petrol thirst. We will see how it goes.

Can consider Hyundai's i30. Light steering so easy to park. Come standard with reverse cam.

6 airbags. Electronic parking brake.

Only thing you might not like is the small rear windscreen but w the reverse cam, parallel parking should be much easier.

Price should be cheaper than the Auris but more exp than Swift.

Hahahaa.... we are the same. The sedan in my car porch is a VW... but so far so good, done 16000km. Just wondering when it is going to drop the bomb on me.

So am getting a second car as a standby too, in case the VW 'bomb' explodes.

Actually U can google around for measurements of the cars u might be interested in. They are all available online.

For example

The new Alfa is so much fuel-efficient, in fact more fuel-efficient than the Auris, comparable to Yaris (but then Yaris is lighter).

Another factor is the turning radius will differ between cars. They'll influence how easy you can maneuver it into your parking spot.

Turbocharged

Giuletta is the clear best choice. Its not even a contest. Its a higher class than the rest (except maybe the golf), equipment, looks & spec. for about the price.

vs this

Not saying Jazz is a bad car, but for about the same money..

No wonder Hondas are not selling. If you get the Auris, I seriously don't know what to say.

Although I also like the Guiletta, but still better to present both cars in same pic size to be fair mah....right?

The Auris seems to be good, Toyota reliability but made in UK [;)]
