Slightly off topic here

It's the 4th bidding exercise since I've committed to a purchase but it looks like my dealer had not attempted to bid at all in all these rounds.. is this normal?

Mine is a garunteed COE. 6 bids

If it's guaranteed, don't have to worry too much I guess...

those rich ppl rushing to buy car now, they actually worried of the second car levied on them.

just roam around the private estate, which hse do not have more than one, two or even three.

some may just buy first waiting for their children.

the cm may have some effect, but wouldn't last long, just a few mths only, and the impact even greater when the lta proposed levy on second car onward, just comment!

They have some open cat COE on hand for buyers like u liao. So they just observating if they can bid any COE lower than what they have now.

If really no chance, they will use the open cat one to close after 5-6 bids.

How the hell can Cat A be as high as Cat B? Come to think of it, why are there so many small cc euro cars here all of a sudden? Audi A1, merc C180, BMW and blardy VW. A LOT actually

at my estate every single one of them.. 1.4L TSi. Sg so high standard but why do they even bother bringing in these low class euro bnb cars.

Aiyoh COE should be based on horsepower like less than 145hp= Cat A and more than 350hp= Cat B2 or something. Make COE cheap for sport cars [sly]

Lunar 7th month, less sales ... -_-

Last year, IIRC, property prices continued to go up during this period. I would not think so. Also those who secures the COE can always choose to register after that month. Those who get their COE earlier would likely want to avoid getting it on the road in the month

Hypersonic

So there will be more coe in August 2013 to 2014 right

Say only la. Dont think there will be enough to meet the demand of people buying cars.

Everyone hoping for the great crash or fall. Maybe we should just get used to the new normal of high COE. Then it falls back to the question on affordability. If cant afford then fall through the net lor.

Although there are alot of deregistration of coe in 2014/15, it does not mean all will be available for bidding. If thats the case, then every 10 year we will see COE price dip. I believe lta will marginalise it so that COE price will be stable all the way.

Just my thoughts.

Just have additional criteria: All force-induction cars regardless of capacity go CAT B or new CAT.

Liddat one stroke all the conti small CC cars like C180 and VW all outta CAT A.
