This happened last year, Feb to May 2015. I can't remember the numbers.

Yes, so Kia's strategy is to price their car lower and most won't be able to get COE. In the end, the low premium for Kia cars stated in sgcarmart is not a true reflection of the actual premium paid by the owners.

That is the case for all makes mah...

Mine might not be applicable but mayb can serve as a ref too.  I booked a diesel carens when the coe was 38k, non gtee package with rebate level of only 30k.  But they bidded 42k for me and didn't revise the bid.  So I didn't get the 45k COE.  In the end, they offered me a 44k Cat E with a corresponding value of the 38k coe, without any top up.

So there is still hope that Kia wants your biz. Mayb a few more bids.

applies to all new cars..

Keep rpm below 3K. Avoid driving at constant rpm. Dun race the car....can be found in car manual..

dun need to keep to certain speed as myth said.. as long as the rpm keep below 3K it's fine. My practise is to be gentle on the car and rev up to 3-4k once in a while to season the throttle.

During 1k servicing they will flush out any impurities in the engines easily..once your engine seasoned and changed to synthetic..ready to go....

anyone notice differences in the showroom and testdrive unit to the one advertised online and also the brochure?

the difference i spotted are mainly the dashboard:

1) as advertised, the dashboard seems to be digital for the petrol and temperature gauge while the showroom and testdrive units were all analog.

2) as advertised, the information screen in between the tachometer and speedmometer seems to be different as well, coming horizontally and coloured while the showroom and testdrive unit were vertical mono-coloured.

So in exact, which version will we be getting?

Didn't pay much attention to that. As long as the necessary information is displayed, either in digital or analog, I accept :)

I went to the showroom twice, and they changed the SX display model between my visits. During first visit, I noticed the headrest for rest passengers were not very comfortable (some noticeable space between head and the headrest, to rest the head makes your body posture unnatural). However, on the second visit, the new display model showed better headrest which are comfortable to rest on.

Perhaps you should clarify with your SE if the display bothers you?

it doesn't bother me much though but just feel if there's a change in these, the advertisement (at least) and the brouchure needs to amend.

What about those "Welcome Light" which i did not see it in the showroom, i believed it's removed as well?

Failed again.. they bid $40k twice..

Get ready for top-up 'trick'. They know the anxiety of the long waiting for the unknown. Unless in a hurry to get car, mai kan cheong, COE is not going anywhere.

LTA should consider to run the bidding weekly, this will help reduce anxiety. If toto can be ran twice a week, why LTA cannot do weekly?
