Nulli, u sould like miw leh...

....back to coe, but all said about people scrapping to make more avail, they will buy a new car after scrap, in this case, demand will still match n outstrip supply. So breakeven only at best? Unless they decide to dish out the open leg policy for coe again like 06-09.

I'm far from being a MIW supporter. I just think that there is a cycle for drivers, if last time can afford to drive but now cannot then should make way for new people like me to drive hahahah.

I will never be dismayed or affected about the high COE levels because in life there are always choices. Can't afford brand new, go for almost-new cars. Can't afford almost-new, go for those with few years left of COE. If really cannot afford at all then don't drive or find a way to earn more.

why should i wait for the govt to make my dreams of car ownership come true? i rather work hard for it and be patient.

Well said.

There are many cars still below $50k today which by singapore standards is not expensive.

Whats with people who cannot make it yet want band new cars?

It is this exact spoonfeeding from the Govt that made us so ballless today.

Can afford buy, cannot afford dont, or work harder to achieve.

There are other things more important than a stupid car.

I think the one thing that we can address but not change is the 'image' mindset. To me i don't really care if my friend/family or associate drives a Chery QQ or a Ferrari. My respect and admiration for the person does not stem from the car he drives.

But if you buy a high-end vehicle just to shove it into my face then i guess i can't help it either.

At the end of the day, if the car serves my needs, and provides some form of inspiring drive, and also within my budget, i will consider it. And not extend my finances just to impress the roadside construction worker.
