COE - November round 2

Would be an interesting exercise in economics if the govt were to release comprehensive bidding information (of course, nothing that can identify people) -

The analysis would be fun...

But of course, that will never happen

And Cat A cracks $70k

Cat E opens at $60k...

Faint

Progress seems to have stalled - I wonder if "annonymous" bidders mean Cat B is $1????

And they will be proving to the people that the people were right all along.... [furious]

Looks like after the announcement of 130hp, cat A stun for a moment, now its bau till Feb 2014. Quick quick grab those 1.6 TC luxury cars while still can muscle their way around in that cat.

no point. the difference between cat a and cat b is just a few k nowadays. what will happen is that the coe for cat a will fall further when the 130hp cap is implemented

After Feb 2014, how long later ur think market will take to correct and stabalize? ( if ever )

Scully, if TD catch on, they add new rule 6 mths later in Aug 2014 Cat A also limited to 200nm of torque. :D

im quite sure ah lui will implement new rules to "stabilize" any drastic drop if it happens to begin with... the key deciding factor is never from market force but how much revenue LTA wanted to generate from each bidding.... dont forget the 4% of gdp revenue generated is not without plan hor.... if someone decided to raise the KPI to 6% of GDP, wish us good luck...

Generally should be downward trend from now onwards ba...

Matter of how down will it goes

the problem is some kiasu and kiasi buyer will go in the moment it drops a few K's...

i have a colleague, his car still can drive without problem and only reach the 10yrs on next year august... but he decided to scrap it now, worriying that the price will keep going upward only..., bought a second hand airwave at 60K+ (year 2009)......wonder why would one wanted to give up those few mths (around 10mths) of low depreciation ownership while waiting for it to drop (or new ruling to come out..) when ah lui already said it will next year?.... maybe it wont drop a lot but, it will most likely drop even after CNY period since that is always the usual trend... even if it didnt drop, buying the same secondhand airwave then will also cost around the same .... why must rush now?...
