Everything can be harmful pending on power used to amplify the electromagnetic frequency. Comparing them civilian vs military applications is not like for like for example

Military equipment for communication was designed to be far reaching with the idea to limit the amount of relay stations needed from Command Center to the front line. Lets say if a Wifi router was designed similarity you would be able to receive wifi signal 300/500 km away from the router (assuming LOS (line of sign) however sending info back would be an issue).

Secondly how harmful it can be depends on distance to transmission tower & LOS, even broadcasting stations for TV can be harmful if one stays too near. From a military sense signalers, radar operators are typically most at risk because they operate within close proximity of the equipment due to the need for it to be mobile so the transmission tower and equipment / operator are all within one vehicle.

I recall they did studies on this before which shows a high correlation between people using such equipment and cancer.

Heng I only use such equipment for 1 year, heng ah heng ah

You should also throw away your smartphone too. It's using the microwave radio frequency too. And you carry it with you most of the time.

You already hong gan long long time liao. Panic now also no use.

TV and radio using UHF and VHF. We are exposed to so many types of radio frequencies. If die, we would be dead long time ago.

This haze is going to result in more ppl with lung cancer 10 yr down the road. Lung Cancer is a silent killer, as no symptom or flu-like symptom during the early stage, so it is hard to detect A cheap and good and safe and easily available method to detect lung cancer is to do chest x-ray ($20). Older taxi drivers get themselves zap once every 2 years, so it is safe. If you zap once every 4 years, u shd be able to catch lung cancer at stage 1 or 2; early stage = good chance for cure/recover. New drugs are coming to enable your immune system to attack cancer cell directly. Drugs like nivolumab. This is less damaging compared to current platinum-based chemotherapy, which is a nuclear bomb approach, damaging every organs/cell in your body.

people are sleeping not enough and sweating over small matters. It's a sure way to contract cancers. If one takes things easier, put on a smile, be happy, do single task one at a time, I am sure life is fuller.

Despite some well-known carcinogens (see link below) such as nicotine, alcohol, pesticides, processed meats, etc, some people are still consuming them in large quantities. Surely, said people must have known the effects of these carcinogens but have either chosen to ignore or preferred to enjoy every minute now.

I would opine that these are selfish people because their actions would always have effects on their loved ones. My late grandfather used to smoke in the house all the time and there was no way for us to avoid his 2nd hand smoke unless we leave the house. Eventually he got lung cancer which was inoperable due to the size. During his last days, we brought him home and he was on oxygen tanks because his lungs couldn't function normally. It was excruciating for us at the last moment because we knew he was dying and we couldn't do anything about it.

Why smoke and burn yourself?

2016 is going to be an exciting year for cancer. A new generation of more powerful yet less devastating (side effect) drugs coming to fight this monster. In 3yrs, cancer can be managed as a chronic illness. In 5 yr, a cure found. In 10 yrs, cancer vaccine.

Does smoking actually causese cancer?

Smoking and lung cancer has a weak co-relation. But before you rush out to buy your next pak, smoking can cause a lot of other health-related problem, other than cancer.

Smoking and lung cancer has a weak co-relation.

I have to respectfully disagree with this statement. There are so many reports on this topic that I don't even know how to quote.
