Hi, the $100 brake pads is for front and rear.  You may be correct as the mechanic mentioned that their recommended set of brakes pads is equivalent to the original mazda brakes. ( and minimum or no rusting).

Thank you !

Go for a trusted brand of brand pads. I never heard of Frixa brake pads but my knowledge on cars also not deep enough.

Anything regarding with brakes better not play play.

Hi, is it worth it to buy your own front and rear brake pads and pay your mechanics for labour fees to fix?

Thank you and stay safe all

Hi yes it’s worth it cos cheaper. And I had 1 set original brand new mazda5 skyactiv front and rear brake pads for sale in forum. Free original oil filter. Selling $185 with recepit from stockist.

Why not just look for an MPV without i-stop?

Just find it irritating and not concern about the fuel consumption.

It's irritating initially until i manually  disable it every time I start the car but over time after u learn how to modulate your brakes, as long as u don't depress it too much, it won't be activated.

Your "modulation" would need to have different calibration every time you come to a stop downhill or uphill depending on the slop angle, wouldn't it? I find it safer to just manually turn i-stop off every time I start engine. But that's just me. 😁

Are there any way to make the door central lock to "lock" once the speed goes above >20kmph?

Or are there any aftermarket modification available?

By the way, what is the default Pioneer head unit model number mazda 5 is having?

Thanks!

Scroll back this thread to April 11, 2016. You can find some info about the HU for Mazda5.

Yup, it's easier to manually turn off the i-stop but overtime, your feet will get used to the modulation or maybe it's due to my left leg braking.

Please share if u managed to find lobang for the central locking. I've asked a few accessories shops but all say possible but no confident as it might cause fault to the body ecu, hence I dropped that idea

Look for Darren from Autotrend Enterprise. I done my foot brake lock (i.e. once all door closed, you step on brake pedal and all doors will lock) there last time.

Thanks for Sharing Bro. Can you recall roughly how much it cost? So far you hv not encountered any issues right?

Forgotten how much it cost but the price wasn't that expensive. I have been using this type of foot brake lock since I was driving Stream (bought in 2010) and had no issue till I changed to Mazda 5 back in 2015. I haven't had any issue till I sold off my Mazda 5 in 2018 too. This type of module should be quite foolproof.

Dear all,

What engine oil are you guys using? Have you tried 0w20?

Thank you

You're supposed to use 0W20 if yours is the SkyActiv version.
