keanie Turbocharged November 1, 2014 Share November 1, 2014 Bro Fibo, Soli to hear you got this illness and taking aspirin still don't help much. However, controlling blood pressure and cholesterol and managing condition like diabetes can help reduce the risk of blood clots. Smoking also increases risk. Omega 3 fish oil do help in lowering cholesterol. I am non-smoker. To update the rest of you, i have been on Hydroxyurea (1g daily) for 1.5 month. It really reduces the platelet count but it seems that i may have to take this drug for life or until one day my bone marrow stops producing excessive platelet. (In last 1.5 month, my blood sample was taken fortnightly to monitor the effectiveness of the drug.) Thank you all! thanks to the scientist and chemist!
