I actually think the Ford Focus is better.

Mazda 2 interior feels rather cramped.

I rode on M2 on uber. Mind you, the rear legroom is suprising spacious

Tink on Uber they push the front seats more to the front, cos most passengers sit at the rear. Its stil fiesta size, even my focus sometimes friends say the rear legroom is abit tight, cos i like my seat more to the back, and its obviously bigger than m2,

Hi Ford bros, I've enjoyed the car and the help in the SGFordClub. While I would really like to get another Focus I need to think of my pocket as I'm likely to retire in a few years, if not earlier. This afternoon my colleague let me test drive his Mazda 2 and I was pleasantly surprised by the road hugging and cornering. Suspension is also not bouncy like Jap car. I almost could not believe it was a Japanese car. Most Mazda 3 owners are getting 13 - 14km per litre so that's the norm. Granted the torque and bhp of Focus and arguably safety is better (both are NCAP 5), I am NOW swayed by the Mazda. Besides RM has no stock till Sep end and have raised price by $3,000 for the new stock. Mazda 3 deluxe comes with additional features for about $4k more with stock for the colours I like. No wonder people commented that Mazda is the most conti like car. Thanks again for all the comments and help offered in the group!

Hi Melbourne09, have you got your Mazda3? How is the ride compare to your focus? like to comapare these 2 model as

@safe2drive Hi I’m collecting the car this Sat I think the Focus handling is sharper FF also has better torque and horse power I bought the Mazda for the handling (good enough for me) better fuel consumption and better specs imo. Will update after I have the car for a week

I finally book the FFT 1.0 wagon. 4 bids non guarantee.

Did anyone fix the aftermarket reverse camera? cos the factory only have reverse senor with radar.

SE say will have to be GPS model and the screen need to be place on the front windscreen near the IU.

Hi you've already booked your Ford. It's a good car.

My take on the Mazda 3 after 4 days :

Fuel consumption is really good; full tank with 1/4 tank used up; Range 520 and done 250km

Spacious (my wife and daughter opinion) compared to my 2010 Ford Focus

Handling Ford Focus still better : I can do the bend at Clementi Avenue 6 to PIE at 70kph but for Mazda I only push it to 60kph even with G vectoring (maybe because its a sedan while my focus was a hatch)

Focus higher BHP and torque

Road noise Mazda is slightly lower than my old Ford by 3-4 decibels (measured using iphone app)

Better specs for Mazda deluxe : Navigator built-in, HUD showing speed, sunroof, reverse camera

Thanks for the review, I ordered the FFT station wagon as needed the extra space for delivery.

Was also considering Mazda 5 but the price different is abt 12K more. Road tax is $800 extra per year.

Hi guys,

Am looking around at used cars. Saw a 2011 focus wagon.

Was wondering whether this version of Focus comes with the problematic Powershift gearbox? Any inputs on this model?

Cheers.

Does the engine show old 1.6 NA or 1 liter turbo? If its the older 1.6 NA engine it should be the older 4 speed auto instead of dual clutch powershift gearbox.
