Shibadog Turbocharged April 6, 2016 Share April 6, 2016 The article said the recall will likely spread to US, Canada, Australia and European models. Wish Singapore not affected. my Msian kaki driving a 2015 wrx (motorimage unit) said he called Msia MI up and was told said their units are part of the recall batch (for inspection). Not necessarily the batch with the faulty part fm the supplier but will recall to check. ↡ Advertisement
wongexcel 1st Gear April 6, 2016 Share April 6, 2016 After full payment, registered car and take 2 weeks to install? Or land and take 2 weeks to install then collect full payment? If its scenario 1, will they compensate u $600 for that 2 weeks depreciation? Mine after settled payment.. 5 days install all the stuffs.. register on 30 sept and collect car on 1 oct.. SE said will collect payment once arrived, at the same time do installation. Think he quote xtra 1 wk buffer. Car collection will 1~2 days after registration. Will chase him, thks for yr info. Now with more car sale, I believe they will take longer to prepare the car. 2 weeks wait is OK for the preparation. Important things is they should only register the car 1 -2 days before collection. Ask for compensation for the X amount of days of depreciation loss. Your SE will then update you on your new collection date. After that, ff you still not happy, everyday msg your SE and keep bugging him/her ... I did this and got my car 5 days in advance of original delivery date. Julian99 Neutral Newbie April 7, 2016 Share April 7, 2016 is Black edition worth paying for? mostly aesthetics - spoilers, leathers - anyone here pay for this upgrade or manage to get it FOC?
Jamesgetz 4th Gear April 7, 2016 Share April 7, 2016 (edited) is Black edition worth paying for? mostly aesthetics - spoilers, leathers - anyone here pay for this upgrade or manage to get it FOC? In my opinion, not worth it... even my sales exec also said no. typically, special editions should at least come with special/STi rims. the nicest thing for this package are the seats which have alcantara fabric. but it's a love-hate relationship becos alcantara feels damn nice but is not easy to maintain. the front and rear bumper spoiler are only so so. STi gear knob and steering wheel (if I recall correctly) but not worth the overall price unlikely it will be given FOC given this is a $4-5K option... 1 more thing is the black edition cars may take longer to deliver becos need to fit out the special parts. Jamesgetz 4th Gear April 7, 2016 Share April 7, 2016 Sorry, I am not a owner yet but more or less narrow down to XT when I need to chg my ride within this year. Heard from a friend whom test drived the XT recently that noise is still noticeable during HW driving so planning to work on this area when I get my new ride. sound level is subjective so you should test the car yourself rather depend on your friend's opinion... if your friend drives a lexus, every other car will be noisy to him

B0N0 Clutched April 7, 2016 Share April 7, 2016 Was asked by colleague to check out the XT, and have been following this thread the past 2-3 months. Found it to be good bang-for-the-buck initially. But after a few rounds of price increase (heard latest list is $125,800), I find its value diminishing after factoring in ownership and operating costs. Still it's not possible to find a compact SUV that offers what the XT does, at the price point. Nevertheless it's moving down my shortlist.
razor54 3rd Gear April 7, 2016 Share April 7, 2016 is Black edition worth paying for? mostly aesthetics - spoilers, leathers - anyone here pay for this upgrade or manage to get it FOC?It's up to the owner's value of worth. If down the road, you know you will itch to have that spoiler kit and the STI extras from the black edition, then might as well get it from the start if it's within your budget. That value only you can answer it yourself. It's nice and if you can afford to get the black edition, just get it and be happy driving it with envious stares from other drivers. My SE also advised me that it's not worth the $5k premium for the black edition. So unless you really dig the looks of the black edition and is losing sleep over it, (IMO) just save the $5k for other upgrades. FOC a little hard to push...as this is a close to $5k addition. But you can always try. :) ↡ Advertisement
